TwoDudes (77), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Apr 4, 2008 This was a nice find. Didn’t expect it, but enjoyed it very much. The aroma was all amarillo hops with lots of citrus and an almost candy like quality. Palate, while possibly being a touch thin, remained balanced until the dry finish. No complaints at all. Infact, I can think of a few American Craft IPAs that I would like to send over to Denmark, so that these guys can teach them how it’s done. kyzr (1119), Belgrade, Montana, USA Apr 3, 2008 Almost amber pour with decent off-white head. Pine sweet and citrus nose. Flavor is hoppy with a nice bite, yet I was really impressed with the nice roasted malt back of this beer. Finish is a little bitter. stetzel (22), portland, Oregon, USA Apr 3, 2008 wow!do these guys do anything that sucks?the ansewer would be no.the aroma was alittle more subtle than an american ipa,the flavor was very balanced nice malt to back up the hops.the best thing was the palate smooth, and velvet. highibus (421), Mill Creek, Washington, USA Mar 31, 2008 Really nice hop aroma, well rounded. Not just spicy, but also floral and a bit of sweetness as well. Nice color a deep straw. Excellent head with massive lacing from top to bottom as I drink. Flavor again, is a good blend of hop flavors, very pronounced and a great sweetness balance and a slightly dry finish. Great IPA. thornecb (1736), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Mar 31, 2008 Pours bright copper into a shaker. Fluffy head leaves spot lacing as it recedes to skim surface and hug rim. Caramel and pine aromas. Crisp with upfront grapefruit, vanilla middle and a lasting resin finish. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Mar 31, 2008 Bottle.Medium sized head that was fizzy, foamy, off-white, and mostly diminished with a fair amount of lacing.Mostly transparent with a slight haziness, carbonation observed, and an orange hue with a golden tint. Nose was very, very nice--malt, caramel, hoppy, citrus, and pine. Flavor mimicked the nose and just as apeasing along with some bitterness. Medium in body.Very, very quaffable, easy to drink, well balanced, would drink this again, and worthy of a try. More please!! BigBang (210), Indiana, USA Mar 31, 2008 Pretty nice IPA with good flavor but a tad heavy on the bitter aftertaste. That’s my only real critique. Pretty good on the palate and rather flavorful. Would drink again. joet (1699), Fulton, California, USA Mar 28, 2008 A unique and loving tribute to the American IPA. Stateside sets up in the glass with not much head formation atop a sparkling deep golden liquid. It has a rolling mouthfeel and a sharp amped malt profile with spikes of light caramels balanced by a restrained but massive hop backbone bristling with herbaceous and viney character. Kudos to Mikkeller for making a very unique and wonderful example of the style.
