urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA Mar 13, 2008 This was a fun one to drink. Sometimes I am in the mood for a sort of tooty-fruity IPA and this is the archetype. Lots of candy flavors, like peach and bubble gum and lemon and grapefruit. SaintMatty (1197), Tallinn, Estonia Mar 12, 2008 500ml Bottle at Kaisla, Helsinki- Amber in colour with a slight haze and a small but foamy head. Hoppy, citrus aroma with grapefruit and peach being noticeable. Hoppy and bitter taste with a grapefruit juice hint and a pleasant bitter bitter aftertaste with a bit of maltiness. Not bad at all. LiebeBier (788), Annapolis, Maryland, USA Mar 11, 2008 Bottle - A fascinating example of a danish brewer making an american IPA. The bubble gum flavors were really drawn out in this beer making it much closer in style to Two Hearted or Stone than Hop Devil. cykyc (28), USA Mar 8, 2008 Bottle, 740ml / 1 pint, 9 oz
Body: Decent head, medium bubbles; translucent and amber body
Aroma: more of a malty aroma than hops. I was expecting more from an IPA.
Flavor: again, similar to the aroma. More malty than hoppy. There’s a light citrus taste and aftertaste
Palate: very decent. Not thin or light.
Overall, I was somewhat let down. The aroma was not to me strong with hops. I could smell them, but I smelt the malts just as much or more. For an IPA, I’m expecting a bit more on the hops. This for me was also similar to the flavor. It definitely had hops in the mix, but not overly strong with the hops. An IPA to me hits me across the face with hops, not powdering my cheeks gently. A good brew, though, nonetheless.
jobyone (234), Charlotte, USA Mar 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber with large frothy off-white head. Aroma has a moderate malt sweetness along with strong hay, pine and citrus. Initial flavor is moderately hoppy with some caramel sweetness. The bitterness grows stronger during the long finish. This is just what I want in an IPA. Excellent. raymondwave (867), Finland Mar 6, 2008 Bottle 0.5 l at Angleterre Helsinki. Orange gold, with small white lacy head. Nose has berries, citrus, forrest, grass and hay. Fresh with a touch of deep mustiness. Flavor is crispy and fully bitter with grapefruit and pine and very little gummy bear sour sweetness. Very nicely balanced and full in taste and body, one of my definate favorites. blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Mar 5, 2008 bottle, nice head that lasts, fruity nose, grapefruit and candy, caramel hop finish, this is different than other IPA’s and worth a try Ansset13 (127), Wilmington, North Carolina, USA Mar 1, 2008 The pour is nice, with about a two and a half finger white head, with a straw colored body. The nose is that of floral and citrus hops, pleasantly balanced. The flavor is first grapefruit hops then kissed with floral fine hops, and finished with a bittersweet combination of both. A nice complex brew.
