nicolascage (105), Copenhagen (Virum), Denmark Feb 15, 2008 Bottle. long lasting nice bitterness. straight forward IPA with lots of bitterhops. Clear copper colour. Medium body, that gives it clear hop aroma and flavor. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Feb 15, 2008 500 ml. Clear burnt orange-copper with a five-finger, lasting and sticky head. Big, earthy, citrus-honeycomb aroma. Huge flavors of the same with lots of resiny bittering to tame it. The almost-medium body is smooth, slightly oily, and near perfect. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Feb 13, 2008 Pours a copper/amber hue with a nose that brings citric tones. Flavor is a smooth mix of bitter, slight salt, and piney tones. The profile stays fairly consistent. Feel is very smooth and it is very drinkable.
Another good production from Mikkeller, IMO. Not exactly sure what’s up with the water over there, but I always keep my eye open for productions from these guys I haven’t tried. PhillyBeer2112 (2084), Orange Park, Florida, USA Feb 10, 2008 Pretty nice straightforward IPA. Hop forward aroma, with a bit of green leafiness and some grapefruit but its not a very aggressive hop presence. Malts are definitely there, with a full multi-grain breadiness. Flavor very much the same, medium palate with good malt-hop balance, fresh citric hops, a touch of a tangerine hoppiness, balanced finish. Very clean fermentation profile. Deep orange huge with creamy head and lacing. polomagnifico (532), Saginaw, Michigan, USA Feb 9, 2008 Bottle. Aroma has notes of caramel, citrus, and pine. Average sized off white head that leaves good lace and mostly diminishes. Copper amber hue. Flavor is caramel malt and mild bitter hops. Palate is medium bodied and soft. Not bad but kind of average. Wouldn’t turn one down but would go out of my way to buy one. matta (1137), Tampa, Florida, USA Feb 7, 2008 Rating #1094
Pours with a striking copper body and a tall resilient ivory head. The aroma is thick with alpha hops, citrus zest and pine sap, but seems evenhanded with the caramel malts. The flavor adds a juicy hoppyness, a balanced and enjoyable IPA. It’s not one of thoes West Coast triple hopped-bombs that are becoming so common. This beer is rounded and drinkable on a seasonable level… except for the 7% abv. * Well done!
ajm (902), Los Angeles, California, USA Feb 6, 2008 It’s a good IPA. And while I don’t like it, I hope I am appreciating it properly. Pungent hops, but not overbearing - a bit heavy on the pine, but nice balance with just a quick flash of fruity sweetness. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Feb 4, 2008 The color was medium orange/golden. The head was creamy, off-white, and laced some. The aroma was ripe fruit, citris, and cascade hops (among others). The flavor was sweet hops, a bitterness, and citrisy hops. The palate was medium bodied and smooth. The finish was hoppy.
