BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Dec 3, 2007 Bottle purchased at Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Pours hazy orange with a small, fizzy and bubbly light brown head, somewhat lasting with excellent lacing. Aroma is average malt (cereal, straw), heavy hops (flowers, pine, spruce, citrus), average yeast (sweat, soap) with notes of pear, peach, and paper. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness. DrBayern (1135), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Dec 2, 2007 16.9 oz. bottle courtesy of CelticBrew - thanks for this one Jim. Nice looking beer with a a clear amber body and a large frothy off white head that lasts well and has good lace. Pine and citrus fresh hop aroma dominates, but there is also some grainy, grassy notes, and a background of some floral honey. Medium body and carbonation, quite dry and clean. Significantly bitter, perhaps a little overly so, but still with a light malty sweetness discernible. Long, grapefruit rind bitter finish. Certainly a good interpretation of an American style IPA. Dough77 (771), Aurora, Illinois, USA Dec 2, 2007 Solid offering from mikkeller entering the american ipa fare. Citrus grapefruit and a bit of pine on the nose. Hazy golden pour with small head. Flavor about standard for an IPA but a bit above average. Overall an enjoyable beer. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA Dec 1, 2007 Hazy auburn in color, smallish head. Mild floral citrus aroma. Soft palate with an understated hop presence. Full bodied with some caramel flavor and big malt. Mellow IPA. drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Dec 1, 2007 After loving Geek Breakfast, I was expecting another taste-blowing experience. Not exactly. Though I really like this IPA which is light on the hops and pine taste, I think my hopes were too high. This is a nice beer. More like a tame American IPA. CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Dec 1, 2007 POPPED CHERRY, My first Danish beer, a Mikkeller ale to be exact! In my favorite style. Poured Medium, hazy amber. Aroma immediate of grassy, hoppish tones. Pines resonate through. This beer looks so sexy in my Duvel tulip glass, here it goes! Flavour is of a lovely made IPA, extremely smooth in character. God bless our friends in Denmark!!! A remarkable beer, truly close to par of our American fine made micro beers of the style. ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Dec 1, 2007 pours light orange with fluffy white head, and some moderate lacing. Fresh hop aroma slightly piney. Very well balanced and fairly complex. Medium bodied with a toffee base. finish’s clean and bitter. Beerlando (2284), Orlando, Florida, USA Nov 30, 2007 Pours a clear, dark golden-orange amber color. A large, frothy, eggy white head settles to a 2mm blanket of foam. Skinny ribbons of lace meet thick, random flares to form a completely organic pattern on the glass. The aroma is classic American IPA all the way. A biscuity caramel and toffee malt base lays the foundation for sharp orange and grapefruit hops. The flavor follows suit, showing excellent balance along the way. A helping of cream really adds a nice touch. Medium bodied, with a smooth consistency. The finish is sharp, bitter citrus. I would swear this is made in America if I didn’t know better. Solid brew, but overpriced for what it is.
