footbalm (1218), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Nov 24, 2007 Bottle from the Cellars in Roseville. Pours an amber apricot juice color. Can you smell bitter or just taste it? Well I knew that there was going to be a bitter flavor from this with my first sniff. Still some what of a fruity note, peach or something, nice IPA. MadIndian (987), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 22, 2007 Bottle from Capones, sampled with Stegosaurus. An amber/copper pour with thin white head. Hoppy/pine and caramel malt aromas. Sweet up front with a piney bitter finish. Very enjoyable. KieferUGA (461), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Nov 21, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear, deep gold color. Medium sized white head. Strong aroma of grapefruit. Beer is nice and thck. Really big mouthfeel. Bitter piney hops dominate the palate with subtle caramel undertones. Smooth finish with the bitterness lingering in the back of the mouth for quite some time. Really refreshing beer from the Danes! Edmoe (126), Orlando, Florida, USA Nov 20, 2007 Nice amber color with 1 finger of head, good lacing. Nice moderate hoppy aroma and flavor. Bitterness seems well balanced although it does linger a little too strong. Very enjoyable. hapjydeuce (763), Del Mar, California, USA Nov 19, 2007 Bottled, pours a clean and bold golden color with a half-inch off white head that dissipates into fine film. The aroma is mostly dominated by the sweetness from the malts, with the amarillo hops there as well. Flavor is less so with the sweetness and more so with the hops. Nicely balanced blend of the green stuff that leaves a hefty bite on the palate for minutes. Great mouthfeel to this beer, very crisp with lots of carbonation. Highly enjoyable, Im seriously impressed with the Danish take on an American-style IPA. rudolf (1734), Buffalo, New York, USA Nov 19, 2007 Slightly hazy gold, pillow white head with wonderful lacing. Nose is pine, resin and grapefruit. Some nice lightly toasted malt in there as well. Flavor is piney hops, a bit of rind, something I can only describe as bitter caramel. A hint of tea in the finish. A bit much on the body - leans towards being too heavy. Prostman (1077), Pennsylvania, USA Nov 18, 2007 This was a really nice IPA. Golden color with a thin white head. Very hoppy as it should be but balance. Well worth it. ChainGangGuy (2522), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Nov 17, 2007 Appearance: Pours a clear, copper body with a lush, foamy white head. Lightly bubbly.
Smell: Pleasantly perfumy aroma of citrus fruits and pine with a hint of spice and biscuity malts in the background.
Taste: At the start there’s a flash of biscuit malts with a brief, subtle caramel sweetness. Then, you get a bright citric, fruity blast and a taste of resinous pine. Finishes dry with a light, lingering bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Relatively smooth mouthfeel.
Drinkability: One of the best non-American American IPAs I’ve had, and one that could give many domestic IPAs a run for their money.
