TURDFERGUSON (1594), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Oct 23, 2007 Bottle from Sam’s. This tasted like a nice, american-style ipa. The hops were a bit muted to the caramel malt backbone. I would love to try this fresh on tap in Denmark. Another nice beer from Mikkeller. JB175 (1654), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 22, 2007 Amber color with a light-med head. Aroma is well hopped, but a bit too malty - citrus and floral hops dominate, but too much sugary scent. Flavor is a nice citrus/floral mix with a hefty dose of bread and caramel - a bit more than I care for, but it works. Nice hoppy/bitter mouthfeel that finishes nice. Good to try, but the price is a bit rough. michael-pollack (2606), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 21, 2007 500ml Bottle: Floral hoppy aroma with notes of citrus and a little cream. Poured amber in color with a medium to large off-white head that lasted throughout. Very good lacing. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is medium bitter. Tastes of hops, caramel, malts, dough, and a little resin. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Hoppy/malty finish tastes a bit salty. JFURYCAT (782), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 20, 2007 This is a tasty critter which has a nice reddish tint and some chewy hops but its a bit unbalanced with not much of a malty backbone to catch the strong bitter hops. The mouthfeel has a creamy texture but the flavor is a bit too perfume-like for me even though I typically enjoy bitter complex beers (aka Ruination, Dreadnaught, etc.). I do have to say this beats most of the IPAs on the market as far as style and flavor. jerc (3861), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 19, 2007 Bottle via Inertiaboy. Hazy orange amber body with a big billowy beige head. Aroma is strong at first pour and a bit milder than I expected after that. An interesting melange of hops, a floral-citrus blend, moderate resiny notes. Flavour is hop forward, but surprisingly balanced and drinkable. Moderate bitterness throughout, pleasantly resiny hops with mild pine and citrus highlights. Alcohol is quite restrained, and hides behind the bitterness rather than being amplified by it like some similar brews. Smooth medium palate is quite appropriate (3+). Thanks for sending these my way Steve! sloth (1658), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA Oct 19, 2007 Medium statured tan head, retention is very good with a heavy coating lace. Fairly clear, gold, copper hued brew. Nose is fruity, citrusy with some nice inky notes, juicey with lightly toasty malts backing them up. Body is about medium, resiny on the palate, crisp hop palate, bright. Just a lovely load of hoppiness. Inky, citrusy, piney and down right left coastish! Mild crystal malts hiding behind the hopslide. Dry, fruity hoppy finish with a well balanced bite. Garoooovy brew! Bottle purchased at statelineliquors! Props to Robert for getting these brews in, you da man!! NicerInPerson (337), North of Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Oct 18, 2007 The aroma was citrusy and malty with a resinous grapefruit and orange character and a nice caramel malt backbone. The aroma was fresh and nicely done with an estery/fruity nose. The beer poured into the glass crystal clear pale amber with an off-white frothy tall head which retreated slowly and laced the glass. The flavor was nicely bittered with a smoothness which balanced well with the malt. The hops were citrusy and a bit restrained in character. The citrus was mostly grapefruit and orange. The finish became dry with lasting resinous bittering into the aftertaste. The body was just above medium and the carbonation level was a smidge below moderate. A nice, well bittered IPA which hid it’s alcohol from start to finish. 16.9 ounce bottle, $8.99. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA Oct 18, 2007 Sample at WLV with Mikkel. Cloudy amber with nice white head. Aroma was pretty piney hops with some caramel malt. Flavor is very piney, but a nice malt backbone. Full bodied, dry and nice carb. Pretty great.
