glennmastrange (807), hobe sound, Florida, USA May 24, 2009 Bottle. Light aromas all around, with roasted for the malt, orange for the hops, soap for the yeast, and date and toffee in the background. Head is small, creamy with larger bubbles, white, with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy amber/orange. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, watery but a little slick, and has a lively carbonation. Light on everything, but everything was pretty good. RichardGretton (3131), Leicestershire, England May 23, 2009 Bottle. Bronze beer with a strong head. The aroma is very dryly hopped and the flavour is very hopped and dry. Overall a nice strongly hopped beer. shawnm213 (884), South Bend, Indiana, USA May 22, 2009 pours a clear amber orange with a nice white head. notes of caramel and spices with a citrusy hop finish. very smooth and drinkable. BiddleBrau (303), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA May 21, 2009 Cloudy orange amber, thin white head. Citrus and pine aroma with malt undertone. Hoppy, dry/astringent, green and slightly cloying aftertaste. Hops are much bigger in the taste than the nose leads on. Malt plays very small part. Nice powerful IPA
alagnak (296), Littleton, Colorado, USA May 20, 2009 Pretty beer - nice bright copper orange, beautiful looking beer. Smells light and fruity/malty (for the style, certainly). Outstanding flavor - well balanced hops and slightly caramel sweetness - reminded me of SN Pale more than it’s IPA kin. Great-drinking beer. chrisv10 (335), Denmark May 20, 2009 Tasted it from a bottle. Very bitter beer but it tastes great. A great IPA. leems (147), Portland, Oregon, USA May 15, 2009 The aroma on this beer lacked any major components, very muted. The color was a dark orangey-amber, a small thin head with minimal lacing. Flavor was fairly malty with earthy hop flavors and some pine. I enjoyed this beer but have definitely had IPAs that I prefer. For the price, I probably won’t have this beer again. Pawola22 (676), Kansas City, Missouri, USA May 14, 2009 1pint .9oz bottle. Pours a hazy ruby-orange body with a two-finger width, dense and foamy, off-white colored head that dissipates slowly and leaves a lot of layered lacing. Aroma of bright and fresh pine hops. Mostly grapefruit citrus with a decent amount of sweet caramels to balance the aroma. Flavor is very similar with more of an earthy resiny taste. Lots of heavy pine and lingering grapefruit. Some sweet caramels, but not perfectly balanced. Definitely focused on the hops. Medium palate and surprisingly easy drinking for an almost harsh hop profile. Overall, a very straightforward hop bomb. Not as balanced as I generally like, but very good nonetheless.
