Commercial Description:
Earlier batches brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
A love of American microbrews is the inspiration behind this IPA, brewed with generous amounts of aromatic, American hops, which provide the significant freshness and bitterness with lots of citrus notes. The taste sensations are nicely balanced by the sweetness from the caramel malt.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pilsner, munich and caramunich), flaked oats, hops (chinook, cascade and amarillo) and ale yeast.

Pours apricot w/ a solid two finger frothworth. Good head retention receding slowly to reveal a full spattered canopy. Aromas of crispy citrus rind w/ mild biscuiting. Medium nectar w/ good carbonation resulting in a cotton like texture. Balance is of the essence and this brew has it. Crispy, crunchy, chewy hop flowers dominate a perfect malt backbone. The brew flares up on the palate and you almost have to eat it to get it down. The finish is bittered well w/ a heavy citrus rind component. This is a well made IPA thats true to it’s style. Not too malty or grapefuity and gladly not in the least bit sweet. They were going for an American style and they hit the nail on the head. Highly recommended.

Takeway bottle bought at plan b, Copenhagen. The hops are jumping up when you open the bottle, and they kick when you take the first sip. Grapefruit and pine aroma. And the finish clings to your tongue. More of this please!

rating #900!!! Dark amber, a very nice color for a good IPA. Nice frothy head, a nice sticky lacing. Outstanding hops aroma. Loads of citrus, grapefruit, oranges, lemons, and limes. There is also some really nice piney resin notes. The aroma is so crisp, and clean, with that great pine ending. The flavour is again, very very hoppy, but the caramel malt really comes through, and brings it alll together. The finish is obviously quite bitter, but its a nie bitterness. This is easily one of the best highly hopped IPAs that is still very well balanced.

serious bitterness, and a seriously good ipa. Substantial shaving cream head, golden orange color, with a fine pine aroma. Hops come off way spicier than I was expecting looking at the hop bill. Regardless, there is a lot of spicyness in the hops, grapefruit bitterness at the end that lingers for a while. Extremely well done.

Vibrantly gold. Very nice mouthfeel: soft, rich, appropriately carbonated. Wonderful flavors and aromas from start to finish. Malts had elements of freshly baked bread, yeasty dough, sugary caramel and faint honey. Hops were bright with pine, flowers, earth and citrus (grapefruit, tangerine, lemon). Some heat in the back of the throat melded well with a grassy bitterness. Bold yet pleasant. Overall, I really enjoyed this IPA.

Hazy copper color, generous head, thick. Powerful yet balanced hop aroma, fruity, creamy and a bit resiny. Very good toffee flavor, even if drier than I would like, with a powerful hopping. The bitterness is a crescendo, from the beginning where it balances the toffee, till the end where it reigns, with good hop oils and some resins, living within a dry mouthfeel. The bitterness in the long run brings to mind some roasted nuts. Excellent.

Copper color. Maybe also because of the disappointment today with other beers, I have to acknoledge that this beer is very well brewed. Nice hop aroma (earthy, fruity and resiny); good dry caramel flavor and strong hopping; and let’s use good hops!

Cloudy amber color. Deep aroma, hoppy, fruity, resiny. Medium body strength, full malt flavor, extremely bitter, resiny. Will be even better with some aging, but it’s so nice to taste it fresh from the keg..
