COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Earlier batches brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
A love of American microbrews is the inspiration behind this IPA, brewed with generous amounts of aromatic, American hops, which provide the significant freshness and bitterness with lots of citrus notes. The taste sensations are nicely balanced by the sweetness from the caramel malt.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pilsner, munich and caramunich), flaked oats, hops (chinook, cascade and amarillo) and ale yeast.

330ml bottle from Brewdog online shop. Pours hazy amber, big white head. Aromas of pine, resin and caramel. Taste has a big bitterness, nice balancing malt sweetness. Oily texture, nice orange end. Bitter finish. Good.

Bottle from AmmersinO, Vienna. Amber, hazy body, with massive, frothy, slightly beige, stable head, that leaves a lot of lacing. Great fruity aroma of passion fruit, mango, grapefruit, lychee, strawberry, some grass. Taste with about the same aromas, some more pine and a perfectly balanced malt backbone, with biscuit and grass notes. Mouthfeel is medium, slick with a medium carbonation and it finishes bitter, slightly dry, with lemon zest, grass, some herbs and also slight metallic/burning notes, which I don’t like that much. Overall very good! This is how a fruity, American style IPA should be. Greatly balanced and loads of complex fruit notes. Only those subtle, unclean notes in the finish keep a higher rating.

Bottled. Very similar to Sierra Nevada Torpedo or First Frontier ipa. Nice aroma of hops, some herbals. The taste is hoppy, dry, bitter. Refreshing. Overall a hop bomb.

Tap @ Mikkeller & Friends 8/2-2014. Tycker den är tunn i både doft och smak. En aning humlig med en hyfsad beska.

Appearance: a bit hazy light amber in colour with quite big white head that lasts long. Nice lacing. Aroma: a lot of tropical fruits, some malt and unfortunately a bit of rust and iron. Wasn’t expecting that from Mikkeller. Taste: grapefruit, mango, orange, maybe a bit of pineapple and again the rust and iron. Average to high bitterness. Good, but not great. Mouthfeel: medium bodied, (too) high carbonation. Was feeling full half the bottle down. Overall: The rust and iron in aroma and taste ruined this otherwise great beer. Probably just a bad batch, that’s all. BB: 29.10.2015 so it’s a fresh one. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, very good, and you can actually barely taste and smell that iron and rust, but it’s there, and it’s ruining this beer for me.

Corpo medio, effervescenza gentile, rotonda e leggermente oleosa. Buona!

Tap at the Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Poured a hazy orange amber with a thin white head and lots of broken lace. The aroma is light nettle hop. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a big hop bitter light mint palate with a long liqourice.bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Clearly takes is roots from the US!
