3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 imdownthepub (8470) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 18, 2011
Bottled, 330ml from Burg Bieren, Ermelo, Netherlands. Hazy orange amber with white head. Crisp, fresh malts with a touch of sweetness, but not too much deliver the hops really well. There is a grapefruity, citrus flavour with hints of pine wood boughs and apricot. Lasting and drying on the palate, very pleasant indeed.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 reebtogi (3259) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 2, 2011
330ml bottle pours a golden orangeish color with a modest white head that settles slowly leaving some thin lacing behind. Aroma is quite citrusy with a hint of caramel. Taste is big citrus bitterness with a light caramel malty sweetness to take the edge off of the hops. A nicely done IPA with a medium body and adequate carbonation.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 24, 2011
Bottle (in NZ). Now this is my kind of IPA. The malt is very prominent, offering lots of chocolate notes to the flavour. This balances out the hops beautifully, which are at first orangey and then more earthy in the finish. The bitterness is just right.

330 ml bottle. deep copper color. slight haze. piney hoppy aroma with something else, a bit off (maybe light oxygen or stale). nose also has caramel malts, which are dominant on the palate as well. fruity (marmalade), hoppy (citrus), and balanced. medium body, long finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 tiong (2236) - Espoo, FINLAND - JUL 19, 2011

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Jimthechap (1190) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - JUL 7, 2011
Hazy amber colour, thick puffy white head. Not a fist in the face of massive hop aroma like I was expecting. Instead, while it is undeniably IPA, it is mature, elegant and rich. Scents of golden syrup, sponge, peaches, grass clippings, spruce and pine resin. This is as near as a perfect aroma as you could get.
Full bodied and sweet and then it becomes wonderfully bitter and the above aromas manifest themselves along with a writhing, screaming bitterness that is like a child that loses an argument and stomps off in a sulk. A fug of tangy citrus stays on board for an age. An award winne, surely.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 drpimento (1936) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 4, 2011
I let it warm up a bit out of the fridge. Poured with a huge, foamy, frothy, billowy, thick cream to light tan colored head that lasts and a little lace. Color is a medium orarnge amber. Aroma is hops, must, yeast, malt, caramel, citrus, & apricot. Flavor is similar to nose and mainly bitter with some fruitiness and a hint of caramel malt. Body is good and so is carbonation. Finish is like flavor with some alcohol and fairly long. Too bitter for me as a session.

Too bad that the color is a little cloudy and a little darker would have been nice for me. Smell, taste and palate are marvellous.
