COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Earlier batches brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
A love of American microbrews is the inspiration behind this IPA, brewed with generous amounts of aromatic, American hops, which provide the significant freshness and bitterness with lots of citrus notes. The taste sensations are nicely balanced by the sweetness from the caramel malt.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pilsner, munich and caramunich), flaked oats, hops (chinook, cascade and amarillo) and ale yeast.

A unique and loving tribute to the American IPA. Stateside sets up in the glass with not much head formation atop a sparkling deep golden liquid. It has a rolling mouthfeel and a sharp amped malt profile with spikes of light caramels balanced by a restrained but massive hop backbone bristling with herbaceous and viney character. Kudos to Mikkeller for making a very unique and wonderful example of the style.

Deep flavours on this. A piney resin mixed with a citrus note. In the mouth the sharp fruit is quickly replaced by a dry pine. Typical of a Amarillo IPA to have a very hard and dry mouth feel. Yeast notes reminiscent of a Belgian triple. Refreshing and unusual. Very tasty.

0,33L bottle. Sour citrus fuit aroma. Good bitter citrus taste. Very balanced tastes. Spicy herbs and like always, very nice bitter grapefruit seed. Bitter aftertaste is enjoyable few minutes after drink. Very ok!

Bottle, 33 cl. Hazy reddish orange with a dense very beautiful white head with fabulous retentionnand lacings. Definitely some Chinook in the nose - almost greasy piney, herbal hop accents - paired with aromatic citrussy notes and sweet caramel from the malts. Bitter-sweet flavor that basically follows the nose and crisp, not too bitter finish. Well balanced, refreshing.

Hardly any fizz at all Major Tom. I’ve just been freaked out. Heard someone rustling around, looking for my daughter assuming she was out of bed. Nobody there. Could still hear it. Jumped out of my skin when I realised the boy was in the room. Forgot I had him. He’s enjoying Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space. My children are going to introduced to some great music. They’ll still like shite I’m sure but at least they’ll know it’s shite.

330 ml bottle, brewed at De Proef Brouwerij in Belgium and is 6.9% abv. Apart from that, the ingredients match the original description. Big head, fresh and hoppy aroma. Taste does not dissapoint, fresh citrus and very bitter and dry finish. Maybe a little thin in the aftertaste. Some alcohol warmth is detected also.

Smells delicious - grapefruit and satsuma. The beer appears to be over-conditioned. Carbonation is hard. Tasty Mikkeller hops obviously. In which section do I rate the fizziness? Is it wrapped up in the overall? I’d like some overalls. Would be 14/15 overall without the fizz.

Pours orange with a big head. Aroma is of sweet citrus hops and pine. Taste is hoppy, but with quite a bit of yeast. Some malt. Not bad - but I didn’t like the over the top yeast in this beer - made it kind of greasy.

Pours reddish amber with an off white head. The smell is very fresh and bitter. Hops’n’grape fruit. The taste contains unripe fruitpeely bitterness, but with some balancing earthiness, which prevent it from being too overwhelming. Clean shit.

Bottle at home. Almost clear mahogany brown color, big nice white head. Temptating fruity and hoppy aroma, some sweetness. Balanced hoppy taste, fruits, sweetness, some spices and citrus, quite long dry finish.
