On tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Looking good this one, with its dark tan head over a black body. The aroma has berries dominating, with chocolate and a vinous feeling. The flavor feels vinous at first, then there’s lots of berries, some chocolate and a faint roasted maltyness. The chili is rather subdued all the way. Full body, lightly tart, dry and maybe a bit low on carbonation. Well, it’s sure a decent beer, but there’s too much berry flavors and aromas, removing much of the goodness found in the original beer. 120511

At Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Jet black with a firm and long lasting tan head. Aroma of raspberries, roasted malt and charcoal with a hint of peat smoke. Dry and slightly tart flavour of roasted malt and raspberries. Unfortunately the overall impression is ruined by that annoying peat smoke - too many directions for one beer to handle

Dense reddish brown cream head. Sinfully black body. Big aroma. Fresh and juicy raspberry at first. Then a rich and well roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate fudge, wood and whisky liqueur. Fresh, deep raspberry flavor, backed by a full malt body featuring roast, wood, faint ash and a fresh acidity. Smooth, full and viscous in the mouth. Lingering tart fruit finish. I love it!

CBC2012: Little head with a rim of red, Black. Nose with loads of frambois and licorice, chocolate, coffee. Semifull body and length. Really a fine mix btw. Framboos and RangerFirst the upfront framboise and then comes the Ranger with its dark malts. Superblend.

Tap at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours dark brown-black with a decent head to it. I like the rich, chocolate and raspberry notes that dominate the character of this beer, but the rest of it - not so much. It’s still pretty decent overall, though.

Pouring at The Festival in Worcester. Pours a deep black with a huge dense tan head. Light isopropyl, smoky and full of peat. Medium bodied, sweet raspberry, tart and spicy from the wood and the chipotle and peat. Smoky, berries, long smoke and a bit of lingering paper raspberries. Strange.

Pours pitch black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of chocolate, raspberries and blackberries. Taste is medium sweet, light to medium bitter and medium sour with a long sour berry, chocolate and dry finish. Body is medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.
