Black in color with a tan, frothy, bubbly head. Lacing holds very well on the side of the glass. Strong coffee and chocolate aromas. No hops pop out in the smell. Definite spicy kick hits the back of your throat instantly. Very smooth black coffee flavor with a chocolatey texture. A full-bodied beer that leaves your taste buds working overtime. Overall i think spice and a malty beer go very well together. This is the type of beer i am always looking for. YUMMY!!!!!

750 ml bottle into tulip. Pours midnight black with a large lacy dark tan head with awesome retention. Smells of campfire smoke, tobacco, leather, chipotle. Taste is bittersweet with a spicy finish. Spiciness lingers in the throat for a nice long time after the swallow. Carbonation is medium, mouthfeel is creamy, body is medium to full. AWESOME.

750ml bottle from the G-Unit. Thanks Gabe! Pours pitch black with a thin tan head. The nose is spicy peppers, smoke and coffee. The taste is ash, cocoa, spicy peppers and coffee. Medium bodied. Nice beer!

750 ml. bottle- Pours pitch black with a nice creamy mocha tan head and spiderweb lacing, beautiful beer. The aroma is very chocolatey with a spiciness in the background, peppery. The flavor is peppery up front, followed by chocolate, then smoky peppers (chipotles) and wood, very interesting. There is a definite jalapeno burn, especially in the back of the throat, this is one of the most interesting beers I have had in a long time, very experimental. The body is thick like chocolate milk, carbonation is low, finish is long, and spicy. Overall I havenít had a beer that I was blown away like this in a long time, a winner for sure, or to quote Charlie Sheen "Winning". Loved it.

Bottle. Pours a black body with a tan coffee head. Very spicy body immediately get pepper, chili, and roasted malt tones. Bery pepper y and a hint of peat with a huge warmth as it hits your throat. Bery slight malty sweetness with a large warmth, loads of pepper and solid heat warming to finish. Solid brew, but iím not huge on big spiciness. Solid offering overall.

@ACBF 2011. I like how the heat hits you end game, as the aftertaste starts to develop - not too much, but noticable. Nice.

From bottle pours dark brown black with a huge dark tan head. Aroma is sweet and earthy with roasted Chipotle peppers, chocolate, roasted malts, and coffee. Taste has smokey bitterness all the way through, chocolate, Chipotle peppers flavors are present with slight heat in the finish. Interesting beer, would have liked a little more heat in this one, but still really nice.

Tasting at Paulís place. The aroma is chocolate, roasty, coffee, spicy. The appearance is a red/brown, opaque, small light brown head. The flavor is smoky, spicy, chocolate, roasty. The finish is fiery chipotle (this is where the chipotle finally shows up.) Good.

(sample at RBWG, 2011-Phoenix. Courtesy of Sparky!). Pours dark brown with tan head. Nice red hue. Aroma has chili, adobo and some band aid. Taste is roasty bitter wit ha metallic note. Chili burn on the tip of the tongue. Medium bodied with slick texture. Finish is bitter and heat is ramping up from the chipotle. Nice beer and surprisingly spicy.

Sweet dark ale aroma. Black in color with tan head. Sweet chocolatey with slight spicey pepper touch in the back of the throat. Notes: Alvinne CBF í11
