UPDATED: JUL 20, 2010 Bottle. Sweet! Had to take a break from the yeast series... no way I was going to make it through all 5 in one sitting. Pours an oily creamy super dark brown, somewhat near black with a tall foamy light mocha sticky head. Aroma of sweet chipotle peppers, odd smokiness, beef jerky, red pepper like aroma, bit of roast, really interesting. Flavor of creamy chocolate, maybe some oats, light smokiness, finishing of chipotle with a light sharp sweetness, medium heat, more so towards the finish, interesting yeast character, very light plastic, the chipotle and chocolate are pretty awesome, off-dry, dry coffee, wood and cream. I love the heat! Medium/full bodied, creamy but not heavy, great amount of fluffy but soft sizzling carbonation. A very nice beer and quite unique. Okay, I know this beer isn’t perfect, or near that, but there needs to be more beers like this... Tyranena has a similar one that I drank by the case. This stuff has some nice heat, coffee and chocolate... loving it.

pour a thick black oil lookin sludge. the head grows slowly... so slowly, in fact, it grew right out of my glass and onto my counter after I stopped pouring with, what I thought was plenty of room. damnit. smell is of chocolate and a hint of spice on it. other than that, a smell of something I can only describe as "clean". taste is of a nice chocolate front, with the typical porter smoothness, but the best thing about this is the waaaay in the back of my throat, on the finish, there is some heat, excellent!! overall this is an excellent porter, and for those that like spicy foods, and darker beers, this is for you! easily one of the best porters I have had... they didnt try to kick up the alcohol, though I have become accustom to that, so am a bit disappointed it isnt an imperial... but bein a spice-head, I’ll take what I can get!

Bottle from KAggie97, Cowboy from Hell.
Pours a thick, 10/40 black with a hot chocolate brown head of dense foam. Nose is straight-up cocoa powder and chocolate with fresh coffee grounds in a hairspray solution. I’m not detecting any chipoltle at this point. As it warms, a slight note of black pepper and chipotle emerges. But if the label had not denoted the chipotle addition, the nose would not reveal it to even the most fervent sniffs. The flavor, on the other hand, is a subtle yet aggressive blend of black pepper, chipotle, chocolate, and a touch of coffee. The peppery presence gives the mouthfeel plenty of pop and a fair amount of heat. Overall, a decent beer but I can’t say I’d buy another, especially at the $12 price tag for a 750.

Draught at KØ10. Roasted aroma. Black colour. Dark brown head. The flavour is sweet and roasted. Has a distinct hop bite, tastes like chili. Which it is, I am told. Gets a bit hot, but is good.

Bottle labeled Mikkeller Chipotle Porter. The beer pours dark brown to black with a tan head. The aroma is chipotle peppers, roasted malt and some smoke. The flavor is great. I get roasted malt, chocolate, smoke and pepper with some medium heat. There is a little burn in the flavor which is very nice. Thick mouthfeel and low to medium carbonation.

Bottle. Pours black with a realy nice brown head. Hoppy aroma. Taste of black pepper rather than chili. Also lots of coffe and malts that levels well with the spicyness.

Without doubt the best chili porter I have ever had! It has the aroma of fresh chili and smoke. Thick as hell. The flavor is similar it has a small burn from the chili, but also the fresh chili flavor.
