Sampled at GBF11 Black with a beige head. Flowey, hoppy aroma. Smokey flavour, but way too much chili.

Kolsvart med högt beige skum. Lätt rökig doft. Torr, fyllig len vätska. Rökig, men inte så kärv, växande rökig chilismak som funkar väldigt bra.

(Bottle) Pours black with a creamy brown head. The aroma holds asphalt, black currant, citrus, liquorice, smoke, coffee, light cocoa and clear pepper notes. The pepper brings som complexity to the otherwise one-dimetional nose. The flavour is light sweet, near medium bitter and tiny acidic. Roasted, smoky and citric with a clear peppery sting. The mouthfeel is clean and numbing with a light to medium carbonation. Li gearing peppery finish (too peppery if you ask me). Light to medium bodied.

25.4 oz bottle, labeled Chipotle Porter. Dark brown with a fluffy tan head. Nose is hay, chocolate, spruce and chipotle; quite smokey. Tangy, ashy, medium body with a long chili buzz. Taste is French roast, black olive, chocolate and grapefruit. The smoke and raisin of the chipotle can be easy to miss but the heat is quite prominent.

bottle labeled Chipotle Porter, but otherwise looks similar. aroma is smoky but not overly so, with lots of roasted malt and coffee. i dont detect much pepper. some fresh earthy hops though, which is interesting. flavor is sweet heavy porter in front, slightly vegetal in back, with a solid smoky heat in the finish. a bit of burn that lasts in the throat. it pours a thick dark brown, opaque, small rocky dark tan head. heavy body for a 6.6% abv. i dont know, not bad but not my favorite. i think the spice would work better in something less heavy. dont think anyone could drink an entire bottle of this in one sitting...

750ml Bottle: Aroma of roasting, malt, light chocolate, and a hint of chili. Poured black in color with a medium-sized, creamy, dense, rocky, brown head that diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer, as well as around the edges. Opaque. Sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, and lightly spicy. Tastes of malt, roast, chocolate, light chilies, and slight coffee. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Malt, roast, light chocolate, and spicy chile finish.

Pours a luscious sable just a whisker above black with a very thick and fluffy dark tan head that sticks around for a bit. Aroma has a strong overtone of semi-sweet chocolate as well as molasses and roast coffee notes and a hint of toffee. Flavor fills the mouth with chocolate, roast coffee and molasses tones plus nutty and toffee hints. The chilis add an interesting and unique zing to the full-bodied and fizzy flavor, making it unique among all beers that I have tried so far. A must for porter fans, if you don’t mind a bit of pepper heat.

Black, with a big brown head with light lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, chipotle peppers, roasted malt, wood. The taste is rich and malty, moderately spicy, and woody. Medium-full bodied, dry, and creamy. Very, very good.

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2013 Bottle, sample. Black with a porous light brown head. Aroma: coffee, chocolate, quite dry. Taste: chocolate, really hot chili, licorice, coffee, a bit creamy, spicy finish. I’m a big fan of spicy food, but for me this isn’t completely successful. Still a pretty nice one though. 8/4/7/4/15
Bottle. Third time I’ve had this now, and each time is better than the last. Black with a creamy brown head. Aroma: roasted, coffee, licorice, cocoa, light chili. Taste: fruity and hot chili, licorice, coffee, cocoa, light creamy, finish has a nice burn.
