4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours jet black with a big mocha head, looks great. Nose is oats, coffee and earthy malt. Flavour is all coffee, dark chocolate intensity up front, then comes the chilli, warming everything up. The chilli and chocolate balance is near perfect. Lovely slick, robust mouthfeel. Finish is more of that play between the chilli and chocolate. Epic.

Black colour, beige head. The chilli taste blends in well with the stout, and is not overwhelming. One of the best chilli beers I’ve had.

75cl bottle, home.
Good classic mocha lacing; opaque black colour, aroma is grains, leather, chocolate, chilli peppers, bourbon, Devonshire cream and some nice measured hops. Taste is just divine. chocolate, bourbon, smoke, excellent bitterness, espresso coffee, roasted malts, leather, gorgeous dollops of cream, maybe some very faint vanilla, some uey treacle pudding which just oozes class, toffee and chillies. There is a lovely burn to your mouth when you finish this. I love the chillies in this, such a great touch!

Draft @ FFF’s Anny Party...pours a dark black, the head on this is out-of-control. Nose is lite on the chili’s with more of a focus on the roasted malts and chocolate notes. Silky mouthfeel, lingering on the tongue...starts with some really nice dark chocolate notes, along with a bit of coffee...BUT THEN, the peppers come through. Wonderfully balanced, the chilis compliment the dark malts perfectly and leave a lingering burn. Admittedly, a full glass was a bit hard to get through, but still a damn fine brew.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thick black pour with creamy brown head (plenty of it, and it lingers). Aroma is rich and stouty - roasted barley, chocolate, leather. Taste is big and bold - great stout which comes across almost as an imperial. Sweetness cut by bitterness and through it all the heat from the chilis. Heat from the chilis replaces the heat from alcohol in stronger stouts. The heat is maybe a bit much in the finish (and I like heat).

Playing around with chilli is apparently very popular - A certain danish beer even won a title using that spicy stuff. Its not the first time Mikkeller have used chilli and the last time was pretty good bodes well for this next chilli-shot from Mikkeller. The bottle is a thick and heavy 75cl bottle with some need lable work on. If a beer ever has been black this is the one. Hell is murky as MacBeth said. The head is triumphant huge and dark brown. This is a black beauty. The nose is roasty and your clearly sense the chili. It has a smokyness than reminds me of my favorite spice - bacon toped with burned malts. The taste is a three step thing. At first the sweetness from roastet malts along with som vanilla and licorice. The there is some hoppy bitterness at finally your are hit by a balanced afterburn from the chillis. You rarely see a beer with a balanced chili - but this one has succeed in blending the taste of chili in so it adds to the picture instead of taking it all over. Nice. The palate is pretty thick and oily taking in mind that its a rather mild beer alcoholvice. Good job.

Pour deep black with a dark tan brown head good lacing. Aroma smokey, anise, wood, coffee, chocolate, nice hopping, slight phenolic, roasty, slight nuttiness. Taste bbq smokey, roast, hickory, chocolate, coffee, pepper, some good heat from chipotle, good bitter hops, with some citrus hops in background. MF full creamy body with a good carb that opens up the palate. This is very well constructed brew and the best example of this style I have seen a truly enjoyable sipper.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Pivni Rozmanitost. Pours potch black with lovely dark brown head. Aroma is roastiness, hops, coffee, hint of pear. Flavor is chili, malt, milk, hops, coffee. Long chili aftertaste makes it a bit unpleasant.
