4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle of Chipotle Porter. Pour is very dark with a medium rich looking brown head. Aroma is loaded with roasted malt, light caramel, light chalk,, light smoke, and light dry stone. This is very earthy. Lots of deep geologic aromas. Flavor is sweet roasted malt up front with notable campfire ash, light coffee, and a faint spice. The finish is long, smoky, and roasty with notable burn in the back of the throat. Not too much, but notable. Really a very rich body for a 6.6% beer. Really good. Less fruitiness than expected.

Nice roasted pepper aroma. Great dark color with foamy dark tan head. Full bodied and thick. Great blend of roasted malt, wood and just a hint of chipotle pepper. Some kick on the back end.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from bottle Very nice nose -- almost a mole-like aroma. Dark, dark, dark, with an espresso head. Flavor is dry and complex -- there’s a lot of roasty notes, chocolate, a touch of licorice. The peppers really kick in on the finish; I feel them in my throat more than taste them. Very nice beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Thin black pour with a tan head. Roasty aroma with smoke and pepper. Very spicy smoky flavor. Burns the tongue. Pepper and chile notes.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A-opaque cola brown with thin cocoa brown head. Minimal lacing. A-coffee and toasted malts overwhelm the nose. Some pepper, salt, smoke and chalk carry to the end. M-mild carbs with slightly watery feel for a porter. T-espresso, smoke, chalk and grains start the taste. Lingering, potent pepper takes over and has a motivated spicy finish. Pepper pretty much takes over the taste after initial contact, with earthy, vegetable notes clawing from underneath.

330ml bottle from LCBO. pours a jet black colour. Rich mocha/toffee aroma showing a hint of paprika spice. On the palate it drinks like a stout but has a certain chilli powdery spice and flavour profile. Sports a decent length and quite a good range of flavours this is a very interesting brew. Would love to try the barrel aged versions!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On keg at Brewdog, pours as a thick textured black imperial stout, with chocolate malts, toasted coffee, chilli, smoked vegetable, all coming together well in a smooth finish. Excellent beer, unusual because of the thick velvety finish for a 6.6%.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: Smoke, tar, smoked meat, rich as hell.
Appearance: Black as can be medium beige head, lacing.
Flavour: Same as in the nose with a warming and peppery finish. First beer I’ve tried that has chili in it, and it makes it’s prescence known.
Total: I liked it a lot.
