Tap @ BAJT. Pours black without any head. Coffe, ash, bit sour. The chipotle hits big and late. More fun and odd too drink than good.

On tap @ CBF 2010. The aroma has pepper, coffee and a hint of iodeine/medicin. Black, oily coloured ber with an fluorescent brown head. The taste is peppery sharp with coffee and roast. Bit too sharp.

Bottled 330ml (Drink Shop, BB ?? 10)
Dark opaque brown color, good creamy brown head. Coffeish chocolaty aroma, roasted with herbal notes. A bit milky too. Not so pleasant. Maybe because of chili? Medium-bodied. Coffee, burnt-roasted maltyness. Some tar/smoke and milky sweetness. Gimmick here is nice chipotle burn in the aftertaste. Otherwise this is not the best of Mikkeller Impys but chili works here very well.

My bottle said Chipotle Porter. OK, but not great. Some hints of heat but really no chile flavor. Didn’t get much Porter roastiness either. Maybe these chile beers aren’t for me despite growing up on the things here in Tejas. I didn’t care for Rogue’s either.

think inky black, with a dense brown crown......looks so thick. Pungent heavy coffee aroma, massive chocolate, good leather, ans yes there is spicy pepper. Do I like this aroma?? Spice really heats up the palate. Heavy thickness is the flavor. Coffee, leather, heat, backer chocolate. SO VERY THICK! The lacing is ridiculous. This is not a hot day after yard work beer.....sigh. My burp had a nice grape fruit hop flavour. I do dig the heat in the brew its perfectly balanced with the flavour. high quality brew perfectly executed but this was not what i wanted to night.

Bottle @ friend’s house. Very dark brown appearance with a dark brown head. Slightly smoky, pepper spicy, dark malty nose. Pepper spicy, slightly smoky, dark roasty porter flavor. Spicy, light smoky, dark malty finish.

Picked this bottle up at Connecticut Avenue in DC. Served in a Cantillon tulip. Pours black with a really nice tan head--very cream with good spotty lacing and a really thick collar. The nose is slightly roasted with a nice chipotle afterburn. Slight roasted malt character underneath. The taste, however, is all chipotle on the first sip. Pretty intense. Nothing too terrible or wrong with it other than that it is not really balanced out by roasted malt, chocolate, or anything else. This is just quite one-dimensional. Finish has a bit of actual chipotle taste with some burn in the finish. Medium body with little balance. Okay, but I think they could have made this much better.
