Bottle @ Odense Tasting, April 2010. Pours pitch black with a creamy head and lacings. Nose is roast, coffee and smoke. Velvetly smooth flavor and palate. Hard roasted coffee, chili and chocolate. Warm and quite hot bite. Very well made!

Bottle at home. Pitch black coloured with a huge brown head. Roasted aroma of dark chocolate, chili pepper and coffee. Roasted flavour of dark chocolate, chili pepper and coffee. Roasted and burning finish of coffee and chili pepper. Nice beer, but too much pepper.

Poured from bottle Very nice nose -- almost a mole-like aroma. Dark, dark, dark, with an espresso head. Flavor is dry and complex -- there’s a lot of roasty notes, chocolate, a touch of licorice. The peppers really kick in on the finish; I feel them in my throat more than taste them. Very nice beer.

A: The pour is viscous and black with a big mocha colored head that has great staying power. S: A very subtle chili spice that lies underneath a nice smokey and roasty nose. There is a bit of a woody note too, along with a bit of earth and salt. T: The chipotles give this beer a real interesting flavor. Smoke, spice, salt, and earth all come to mind immediately. The beer is quite rich and chocolatey with lots of roasted character as well. M: I was surprised when I checked the label to see this beer is only 6.6% because the mouthfeel is very impressive. Very full bodied with a nice creamy carbonation. D: This is (surprisingly) one of the best Mikkeller beers that I’ve come across. A really nice porter with a well done chili addition.

Bottle from Hall’s. I love the Texas Rangers, therefore I should love this beer. Pours a dark dark brown with a wicked tan head. Aroma is a chocolaty roast with some beef and pepper notes. Heavy on the nose. Flavor is beefy with lots of pepper. The finish has a wonderful beef rib finish. Not too spicy. Has some kick at the front but fades away. Wow this is actually pretty good.

Bottle of Mikkeller Chipotle Porter. A black pour with a small tan head. The aroma was smoke. Like many others, I didn’t get the chipotle. The beer did have a mellow smooth smokey flavor that I believe can be attributed to the peppers. Overall, it was a tasty creation by the man himself.....

Pours a thick dark black brown color with a massive light brown reddish head that persist in a yeasty pillow. Nose is dark chocolate, faint smoke, chillies, green citrusy hops, berries, and vegetables. Medium silky but kind of thin mouthfeel with some burning heat. Taste is similar to the nose. Pretty dang good.

thanks to holdenn for sharing! pours black with creamy tan head. the aroma had pepper, vanilla, and chocolate malts. flavors of chocolate with chili peppers, smokey ash notes. whilte chipotle pepper notes start subtle but i felt they finish strong. perhaps a bit too heavy and sweet for a 6.6% beer but i like the way this tastes.
