Spab (2806) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 25, 2014
330 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours an opaque ultra dark brown with average tan head. Aroma is quite roasty with coffee, chocolate, some herbal hops and a little chilli pepper. Flavour starts like a stout or black IPA with lots of roasty cocoa and coffee as well as some herbal hops, but has some real chilli heat at the back end. Finishes hot. Silky body. Impressive although I do find these hot beers ones I like only in moderation.

Black with great brown head. Aroma is molasses, leather, espresso, chilli and some cherry. Rich palate. Aftertaste is chocolate, hot chilli, coffee and leather. Overall: impressive. Tastes like it’s 10%.

Tsekouratos (481) - Nea Filadelfeia, Athens, GREECE - FEB 1, 2015
330 ml bottle at Bites&Pints, Athens Greece. Pitchblack color with a dark brown head. Aroma is coffee and some pepper heat. Taste coffee and chocolate with some heat, with sticks to your neck as the beer warms up. The body is medium, maye a little too thick for the alcohol, with medium carbonation.

Bottle at Dogstar Vi5. Dark body white head that fades. Bourbon smoke malt aroma. Taste is a rich roasted cocoa and a faint touch of hest. Pretty cool beer.

[7206-20150503] Bottle. Roasted fresh chocolate leaf aroma. Black body with a long-lasting foamy light brown head. Chocolate roasted malt flavour has a sweet burnt aftertaste and after a while you really start to notice the chilli pepper burn. Full body is a little bitter. Good, easy to drink at first with a cumulative heat from the pepper. (8/4/8/3/15) 3.8

75 cL bottle. Pours pitch black with a huge and chocolate brown head. Aroma is hoppy fruity and slight spiced. Smooth roasted and dark chocolate malt flavoured. Slow and distinct chipotle chili bite. Lingering fruity and chocolate flavoured into the far finish. Building chipotle bite.

Draught @ Orsted Olbar, Norre Farimagsgade 13, 1364 Copenhagen, Denmark.
Clear dark black color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, burnt, coffee, iodine, smoke, moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and heavy bitter with a long duration, smoked, chili - alcohol burn finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft to flat. IMO a bit tomuch chili burn, result is that the beers is not easy to drink ... [20100410]

KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - JUL 13, 2010
Bottle from KAggie97, Cowboy from Hell.
Pours a thick, 10/40 black with a hot chocolate brown head of dense foam. Nose is straight-up cocoa powder and chocolate with fresh coffee grounds in a hairspray solution. I’m not detecting any chipoltle at this point. As it warms, a slight note of black pepper and chipotle emerges. But if the label had not denoted the chipotle addition, the nose would not reveal it to even the most fervent sniffs. The flavor, on the other hand, is a subtle yet aggressive blend of black pepper, chipotle, chocolate, and a touch of coffee. The peppery presence gives the mouthfeel plenty of pop and a fair amount of heat. Overall, a decent beer but I can’t say I’d buy another, especially at the $12 price tag for a 750.

Dogbrick (9455) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 25, 2010
UPDATED: JUL 31, 2010 On draught (from a recyclable cardboard keg) at 33 Wine Shop & Tasting Bar in St. Louis. The beer is a dark brown color with a thick tan head that diminishes slowly. Patches of lacing on the glass. Savory aroma of chili peppers and roasted malt. Medium body with flavors of peppers, malt, coffee and some other spices in the background. The finish is spicy with a lingering smoky aftertaste. Interesting, above average beer all around.

BCTC 2010, ratebeer tent, my bottle. darker pour, roasted malt aroma with hints of the pepper heat. Flavor has pepper heat that builds up as you go. Chipotle smokeiness & heat build on the palate for awhile. Solid porter roastiness & flavor. Good beer
