3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Poured a black color with a thick, dense, creamy tan head that slowly receded to a thick fluffy layer while leaving large spots of lacing. Aroma of bakers chocolate, lightly roasted malt, bread (rye?), a soft earthiness, and some dry pepper. Smooth, lightly bitter entry that leads into a moderate roasted maltiness with some hints of light bakers chocolate that leads into a lightly dry earthiness paired with a moderate chalkiness that is overtaken by lightly spicy pepper note that lingers into the finish and becomes a tad overbearing before a light, sweet breadiness peaks through and tries to salvage some of the flavor. Light carbonation and relatively slick mouth feel. Overall, the appearance and aroma are pretty promising, but the lingering, harsh flavor leaves a pretty fair amount to be desired. I am not sure if itís the peppers that are imparting the chalking, almost medicinal flavors or not, but I am not a fan of that. Bummer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black. Rich malt profile, roasted and caramelly, with notes of chocolate and coffee in the aroma. Moderately sweet taste, with medium bitterness and some sour notes. The chili flavour slowly builds up, turning into a rather hot finish. Full body, with low carbonation. Overall, a very good porter. It is very tasty, and the amount of chipotle is just right.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mostly a pepper aroma. On the lighter side, and I canít get malt or roastiness. Pours black with a healthy sized tan head. Slight shades of red on the side when held at the light. Very peppery, with some smokiness enmeshed in that. Thatís really good. I donít get much of the base beer, though. Not a lot of malt flavor, either sweet or roast. The pepper heat level is in a decent range. Body is on the lighter side. And carbonation level is pretty mellow.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Donker zwart, bruine schuimkraag die blijft, mooie lacing.
Aroma: Donkere geroosterde mouten, donker fruit, chocolade, koffie, vanille, zoethout
Body is medium, voldoende koolzuur, zacht mondgevoel.
In de afdronk de pittige chipotle...licht bitter en droog.
Wat een topper!

33 cl bottle @home as Chipotle Porter in straight glass@approx 12 degrees. Present from my nieces. Good choice - Thanks :-) Pours almost black with large beige head with medium retention with some lacing. Aroma of malt, roasted sweetness and chocolate. Pretty much like a good porter making me wonder about the chipotle. First taste is of porter: roasted malt, a little smoke, dark fruit and dark sugar, but then the chipotle creeps in and leaves you with a warm porter/smoky/chilli aftertaste which is very pleasant. Will have more of this come winter if possible....

2.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
HOME 20160717 (33 cl bottle, bbf 30.06.19): A very dark brown beer with a brownish head. Aroma of dark roasted malt which gives a nice chocolate smell. For the rest some nuts, dark red fruit, pepper, vanilla. The taste starts with sweetness and bitter chocolate (dark roasted malt). And then a sharp pepper feeling which stays long in the back of the mouth. Besides the spicy taste also some malt bitterness and dark red fruit. In the aftertaste sweet sticky and somewhat bitter dryness. Also some yeast. It could be a nice drinkable beer, but the spicy aftertaste is for me not nice (too sharp).
