Bottle from Etre Gourmet, June 2012. Black with a medium tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, some chili and notes of wood. Quite a lot of chili in the taste, hot aftertaste. I liked it! Dry mouth feel with a rather soft carbonation.

NIce brown medium head. Aroma of coffee, spices, liquorice and burned grass. Taste of chocolate, espresso, wood, chili, pepper and smoke. This beer feels like a full bodied high ABV Imperial Stout at only 6,6%. Amazing work Mikkeller.

(draught) pours black in colour with a creamy light brown head. aroma of tobacco and smoked ham, green ball peppers, toasted malts, vanilla, brown sugar and dark chocolate, a bit too green. flavour is heavy toasted grain, ash and alcohol, with a light sweetness and a slightly too hot roasted-bitter finish. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.

0,33L bottle. Wow!!! Very cool black motor oil color with cappucino hat. Nice. Wow...Sharp :) Vanilla caramel aroma. Bitter ginger and sharp chilli taste with little citrus fruits and mild vanilla comes up. Really hot finish with nice caramel hop taste. a very interesting experience.

Black pour, thick tan head with reddish hues on edges. Ample lacing. Nose is chili peppers, coffee, some roasted malts. Taste is rich chocolate, chili peppers, coffee beans. Lingering hot pepper burn. Smooth, full sticky mouthfeel. Body more like a stout, even an imperial stout, than a porter. This was way, way better than i had anticipated.

Bottle. Very good pour with a thick head. Rich aroma of smoke and chocolate. Luxurious body. Flavour is smoke, chocolaye, salt before the chilli rears it’s ugly head and ruins everthing. The chilli was too harsh and masked the other flavours. Would be a stunning beer if the chilli wasn’t being a dick.

Wow, as a realy dark beer this comes on nose surprisingly not roasted malt or burnt dominant, instead aroma seems like smooth balance between spices, noble hopping, creamy, a bit coffe, burnt sugar light sweet, a bit smoked and olny then roasted malt. Pours black with huge brown tan cap, good rounded lacing with good stamina. Elegant! Taste is galacticly far away sweet, burnt or roasted bitter, also medium hopping bitter I sense, and od course spicy, peppery profile. Palate - above mediyum body, oily texture, overruned spicy, a bit astringent on tongue, soft carbonation, long , bitter mild dry finish. O.A. - well it is not beer for everyday, no doubt. Brewed nicely seems to me although it is one time sample, cause peppery id so dominant, it is difficult to enjoy this beer.

Tap at Angels Trumpet went all the way to Scandinavia for some tastes of the Southwest while escaping AZ heat. Pours rich dark brown with thin head that quickly dissipates. Nose of chocolate and chilies. tastes of bitter dark chocolate, coffee, earth, light soy sauce, smoke and Tabasco. finishes with deep chilli burn more than i was expecting in fact. kinda slick on palate but otherwise delightful

Wow this has a kick. Black as night and deep tan head w/ some of the most gorgeous lacing i seen i some time. Liquorice malt on the nose and then whoompf massive hit of choco chilli maltiness and a massiver chilli tail. This bottle has way more kick than the barrel aged version i had in BrewDog Shoreditch. A beast.

Pours black liquid with brown medium top that fades, also aroma is nice, sweet smokey that would promise good things to come. But, the taste, first thing that hit’s is ash-smoke which is too harsh. You may have time to think about dark chocolate if it wasn’t for the bitter-peppery taste overwhelming right after. Yes, there is a sweetness in it aswell, but it’s a harsh drink and I’m suffering while trying to finish this thinking, do I have to... I’m no Texas Ranger for sure and would like to enjoy when having a beer.
