Bottle. Shaker. Orange, little hazy with medium, white head, good lacing and head retention. Medium tropical fruits aroma - pinnaple, passionfruits, also some lighlty floral and citrus - grapefruit notes. Nice marmalade hints in the background. Taste is medium bitter with strong bitter accents in the end. Nicely balanced with sweet, pilsener malts. Light to medium body, creamy texture, medium to lively carbonation, finish is long and lightly bitter.

A clearish orange body with a few specks of white foam. Nose has nice pineapple, grapefruit, peach, resin and pine needle notes. Taste is very bitter with a lingering, almost soapy aftertaste. Medium carbonation with creamy bubbles and a fairly rich palate. This is very hoppy and without knowing I would say it’s an IPA. For the low ABV, the mouthfeel and taste are superb.

(Can) Pours cloudy amber with excellent dense white head. Lovely aroma - pine, grapefruit, candy, hints of pepper. Light bodied with excellent carbonation. Nice taste, tart fruit and plenty of hops. Hops from start to long crisp bitter finish. Could do with a little more maltiness for balance.

Bottle. Dark caramel, murky thin white head. Aromas of Passionfruit, pineapple, peach and a touch of light caramel. Pine hop flavours, a clean mid palate, bitter tropical fruit and caramel. Quite bitter for a lager. Utterly delicious. I love Mikkeller!!!! ---Ra via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from bottle, gave a five fingers foam. Fiercefull bitterness with tones of lemon, lime and grapefruit. Pungent kick with a dry and grassy finish. Feels more like an IPA.

L: pours a deep hazy cloud with a finger of foam that lasts for ages and leaves plenty of lacing. S: an upfront fruity citrusy hop aroma, grapefruit, orange. Under that some Pilsner malt, biscuit, a touch of lager mustiness. T: a tonne grapefruit, citrus, the first half says APA, then the lager malts kick in. F: nicely bitter throughout, ends dry, medium-bodied, super easy to drink. O: it is lager and those attributes perhaps dull the bright flavours usually in an ale, but I could slam these all day. Well done.

330 ml bottle bought at YATA in MOKO, Mong Kok.

Looks: Clear orange amber colour with a ring of dirt like yeast sediments; One and a quarter finger head with crumpety white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Beautiful sticky lacing and active carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant and sweet malt, with orange, light grapefruit, fresh pineapples, marmalades, strong floral, sugar, pine, light resins, light bread, light lemon and fresh grass.

Taste: Light sweet Pils malt, with strong floral, molasses notes, pine, resins, light earth, dry bread, yeast, lemon, strong bitter hops and very sharp grass.

Body: Mid to light body. Quite thin but slick palate.

Mouth Feel: A straight-up IPL - moderate Pils maltyness in a fairly solid but runny background. Near zero grapefruits from hops, but strong bitterness, good pine, resins and earthy. Good Hallertau-like floral and lemon. Very good!

Hoppiness: Fragrant orange, grapefruit, fresh pineapples, marmalades, strong floral, pine, light resins and fresh grass in nose. Strong floral, pine, resins, light earth, lemon and sharp grass in taste; Bitterness is strong for a lasting, high astringent bitter finish.

After Taste: Fairly dry. Glassy and strong bitter to mouth.

Comments: This is a light-hearted but very good IPL, with very jammy and tropical fruit aroma, crisp body and very hoppy taste. High standard with a bit of by-the-book feel, a bit cheaper would be nice and I wish macro lagers were made like this. Yes!

Tap at Cirkus bar, stavanger. Moderate hops in taste not as much in aroma. Good taste, a little short aftertaste. A good lager.

Panzerfaust (784) - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, CHILE - DEC 31, 2015
500ml can from Gallagher’s Beer World/El Irlandés. Pours an unfiltered bright orange color with a medium white frothy head that laces well and leaves a cap. Nice hoppy aroma, pretty much a mixture of a bold APA and a Pilsener. Strong spicy hops mix up with mildly fruity ones to gave notes of tangerines, hay, green tea, green pepper, flowers and grass. Exciting but a bit unclean. Pretty bitter taste, herbal and grassy. Flavor of lemongrass predominates. Zero sweetness but some nice citrus is felt on the sides of the tongue. Nice and refreshing for a hot summer day like today. Light to medium body. Almost more ale than lager. A touch unclean. Medium carbonation. A very good lager with the character of an APA and the spiciness of a Czech Pilsner. The only problem is the slight ucleanliness (typical of De Proef), that feels good on some Ale styles, but not so much on a lager.
