On tap as the Danish Dream, City Beer. Great hops aroma, fresh and grassy with tons of character. Apricot and grapefruit, light sweet sugary notes. Golden-amber hazy with lacing head. Medium body with nice medium-high carbonation. Starts with light malt and nice hoppy character. Not quite crisp but good carbonic bite and pils malt. Not quite noble hops but nice American varietals. Tasty and nicely balanced with great hops finish. Bitter pleasant after.

Bottle. Golden colour with fine head. Nice hoppy aroma. Some malts but as usually lots of dry hops so you cant see why this isnt a IPA...

UPDATED: AUG 8, 2010 Medium coarse white lasting head. Pale coppery body with carbonation. Resiny citric mango hop aroma. Dry orangey citric peppery hop taste with grassy notes. Mid-to-light body. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dry dusty citric aftertaste with grassy chalky notes. Could use more body and aroma. Very bitter. (0.4l draft at Fräcka Halvpannan. Rerated at Olympen, exact same score.)

On tap at City Beer. Nice orange with a quick white head that is fleeting. Lots of nice malt on the nose. Crisp, buscuity malt with nice hop throughout. This is a well balanced beer.

Tap, City Beer Store. A fine beer but not terribly exciting. This beer looks, smells and tastes a lot like a dry IPA. It drinks a bit bigger than the abv would suggest. The beer has a nice aroma that leans toward American hops - grapefruit rind and pine notes. There’s also a touch of grassiness and some yeast in the nose. The flavor is dry and yeasty with light hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and quite good. It’s a nice sessionable beer that costs a fairly outrageous price, at least this far from its home.

On tap at City Beer in SF. Pilsner, huh? This is an interesting beer, one I would place more in the IPA realm if I had to choose. Pours a clear light amber color with a small white head that leaves some lacing on the glass. Aroma is very hop-forward, citrusy and piney, with a little malty sweetness poking through. Flavor is hop-centric as well, with grapefruit, pine needle, and resin, but has a noticeable and even mildly sweet malt aspect, with pilsner malt and maybe even a little caramel. Medium-light bodied and dry with hop oils present on the palate. Very drinkable. This is a really good pilsner/IPA hybrid that definitely falls more toward the IPA side.
