(Bootle) Cloudy amber copper with big creamy tan head. Pleasant aroma with toffee, apricots, bread, maybe a hint of malt. Full bodied, almost sticky, with nice fine prickly carbonation. Huge rich flavour, with sweet and dark toffee, some stone fruit, the dark toffee notes build to a burnt bitter finish, with a hint too of alcohol burn. An unusual, fairly intense beer, perhaps a little aggressive in the finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear brown, reddish beer with a big off white head. Aroma is fruity, malty, caramel. Some sugary notes and quite boozy. Flavor is quite sweet with touches of bittercookies and even some slight hops. It’s more bittering hoppyness than aromatic, but there is certainly some hops in the palate. Booze is noticeable, slight overwhelming which costs it a few points. Long, sweet finish. A nice barley wine.

Amber pour. Aroma is fruity with a bready malt base. Flavour has the same character, slightly grainy with tons of fruit, sweet malt. Alcohol well hidden. Nice.

Bière riche très bonne mais avec un prix trop fracassant ! Très amère en bouche elle explose quand elle prend de la chaleur.

Appearance: Clear amber/copper with 3 finger thick creamy ivory head. Aroma: Lychee, apricot, resinous, dried fruit (fig and raisin), note of marzipan. Taste: Medium sweetness and bitterness, low sourness. Palate: Thick smooth texture, medium body, average carbonation, lingering astringent syrupy, peppery, bitter/sweet dried fruit finish with alcohol warmth. Comments: Tasty and glass lace.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Strong malt and sweet aroma with some alcohol. Nice earthy copper color, almost like apple cider with a thick foamy head. Full mouth feel but lighter than expected. Good carbonation. Strong mix of caramelized malts with hoppiness and alcohol. There was a strong fruity esters component as well. Great example of the style.

Shared with EricTeusink. Thanks dude - straight from Brickstore’s cellar! Aroma is sweet light fruit, candy caramel, and still a bit of citrus hops on the nose. The taste is were an explosion of flavor occur. Even at a year old, I could not believe the amount of hops still in the taste. Really bright citrus American hops shine as a sweet candy caramel sweets swirls with some sweet breads, honey and light fruitiness. Good interesting stuff. Still blown away by the amount of hops in there.
