Boogoop II on tap at Mugs alehouse.. Pours a copper red with thick frothy head. Smell is pine, citrus, white tea, lime rind. Taste is boozy.. grapefruit, pine, lemon rind, lime rind, pineapple, vanilla, and some light buckwheat. Moderate carbonation with dry finish. Enjoyed but tastes more like a strong IPA than a barley wine.

"Not sure of the age on this buckwheat wine. Hop bitterness is there but the flavor seems weird. Really nice malty whaety spicy backbone. Hops are rather dull, but then open up a little eventually to provide a pleasant fruitiness. Not as good as I was hoping, but I’d try a fresh one again in a heartbeat."

750ml bottle. Hazy, rose hip tea red glimmering, dark amber colour with huge, thick, creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, beige head. Fruity hoppy aroma has notes of mandarine, orange, zesty orange notes. Taste is moderately sweet malty, toffee notes, bitter hoppy counterweight, hints of orange, mandarine, orange zest. Very soft palate, biting bitter hoppy and slightly burning alcoholic finish.

Igen kiegyensúlyozott komponensek harmóniájának lehetünk tanúi, melyeket mintegy kihangsúlyozva, 80 IBU-val vágtáz előre a komló harapós, ezerszínű árnyalata, hogy némi tekintélyt szerezzen a mindaddig bájosan terpeszkedő kavalkádnak: rabul ejtő alkotás.

Caramel, jam, bitterness in the back that is smoothed out by a touch of carbonation. Very solid barleywine that has aged quite well.

Fresh hoppy flavor. Does not taste like a traditional barley wine, not much malt flavor.

On tap at DLD 2014. Pour is amber/copper with a medium sized white head. Aroma and flavor of apricots, dried fruit, honey, apple cider, and all spice. Finish is similar with some more spice and booze coming through.

Hazy amber with 5mm light-tan head, frothy. Aroma is huge caramel, toffee, some raisin, light sap, floral notes, bit of candy. flavor is huge caramel, nutty (peanuts), herbs/sap bitterness. Refreshing spring water. Body is medium-heavy but frothy, velvety carbonation makes it slide down easily. Great barley wine. In the aftertaste, bitterness comes out a bit as it warms.

Bottle from Brewtique, Macclesfield. Poured a copper / amber colour with a few floaty bits, yellowed off white head. A complex beer. Booze evident in aroma and flavour. Different for a barley wine. Cakey. fruity. Brown sugar. Interesting and very tasty.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This is a hazy copper coloured beer that pours with a large foamy head. It has pineapple and spicy berry flavours with a malty, zesty tropical fruit, and peppery hop flavour, followed by a warming sherry-like finish. Excellent!
