Firstly, this is a Dipa. This is bar none, without question, not a barley wine. It’s important to distinguish this because there may be those who have not tried a beautiful barley wine, and may turn away from them after trying this. The aroma is hard fresh cut wood and sour citrus peel. The flavor is sugary, stale grass in the beginning with a raw, bitter, hard, acidic, alcoholic, woody and tannic dry finish. Can I get some positive grain presents please? Not here I can’t. Thank you three floyds and mikkeller. 2012 25oz.

Couleur orangée trouble, forte mousse. Nez fort houblonné, fruité, coing, confit, résine. Gout malté, resineux, houblonné, confit coing et vieux fruits, légèrement caramel, miel et alcool en fin de bouche. Bon corps bien rond en bouche... bien!!!

Tasted from the tap on the 08/07/2016 at Caminha Artbeerfest 2016. Orange colour with a foamy layer head. Aroma of caramel malts, alcohol and light toffee. Taste is alcoholic with caramel, toffee and syrup. Next one please!

On tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours a rather dark, reddish, clear amber with a small, off white head. Aroma has toasted malts, caramel, lots of hops, berry-like fruityness, some overripe plums. Taste is sweet.. Very sweet actually. Towards the far end a bitterness takes over and balances it somewhat. Average to low carbonation and a sticky body.

Clear, red-copper colored, medium+ good lasting creamy beige head. Aroma is of caramel, malt, candy, fruity, buckwheat, some herbal notes. Taste is medium to very sweet malt, some caramel, candy fruity, some buckwheat, light toast, medium herbal-floral bitterness, some alcohol. Full bodied, sticky, bit creamy, soft carbonation. Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pours a deep copper-hued clear amber body with a large creamy off-white head. Graceful. 5 Nose is red fruits, caramel, vanilla, grains, toffee and hints of wet grass, white sugar and minerals. Taste is caramel, burnt sugar, alcohol, grassy herbs and hints of grains, white sugar and toffee. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Way too bitter for me, I like my barley wines sweeter and fuller, with more complexity. Decent, but no winner.

Big fizzy-creamy longlasting head. Aroma is very mild, leafs, caramel malts, grass, candied sugar, minerals, weeds, bark, hops, alcohol, old citrus peel. Taste is slightly sweet grassy, leafs, old citrus peel, minerals, bark, hops, grass, cardboard, burnt caramel, alcohol. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly dry and harsh watery mouthfeel. Fair enough.
