Bottle, BBE 17/06/19. Appearance- light orange, with a two-finger fluffy off-white head. Aroma- orange, tangerine, creamy malt, sugary fruit, marmalade, piney hops. Taste- orange peel, hint of fruitcake, sweet sultanas and raisin, a bit of booze towards the finish, glacé cherries, creamy malt undertones, oily and slightly sticky mouthfeel, orange sponge pudding with golden syrup. Very tasty stuff, almost imperial IPA-like.

Tap at Fairbar. Light bronze body with an off-white head. Round, hoppy aroma with notes of citrus. Rich and well-rounded sweet taste with lots of hops and heavy bitterness. The alcohol is fully hidden. Medium body with average carbonation. Long and bitter finish. I have not had too many barley wines as they did not appeal to me initially, but this is delicious and very drinkable. Looks like I should explore this style further.
