3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a 750 mL bottle. Pours cloudy apricot brown. Off-white head with nice lacing. Aroma is rich in hops with notes of citrus with grapefruit coming through. Flavour is surprisingly sweet given the nose. Sweet malts and rice syrup combine with prickly hops to give an interesting take on the original Boogoop Barley Wine.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(750ml bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Apr 9 2015) Pours hazy medium orange with small dense off white head. Aroma sweet, caramel, corn syrup, cantaloupe, peach, citrus, musty hoppy character. On the palate, sweet light caramel, candy syrup, cantaloupe, citrus and peach echoing the nose, a light bitterness building to moderate levels by the finish. Very light touches of alcohol. Medium full body with average carbonation. Pretty nice stuff actually, I don’t know if I love the malt base but the juicy hop profile is tasty. More like a DIPA, not really any barley wine character, that’s just fine though.

Bottle (75cl) from Vinmonopolet, Oslo. Hazy orange colour. Half-inch offwhite head that slowly reduces to an uneven film with a band of lacing. Intensely hoppy, sweet aroma with resin, banana, pear, orange, almonds. Full body, soft carbonation. Taste is quite sweet and fruity with a superbly well-integrated, powerful bitterness that also includes a hint of salt. Lasting bitter-sweet aftertaste. Remarkably enjoyable.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Oct. ’14. A 0.75 l bottle, one of the several from Svijet Piva store, Zagreb shared that evening. It poured hazy amber body with medium sized head. Sweet cooked and tropical fruit aroma, touched with some hops and quite some alcohol. Plain but very fine. Flavor was also sweet, fruity, sugary, syrupy and alcoholic. Touched with herbal hops, too. Medium bodied with moderately long, of course sweet and warming finish. Well, not bad, definitely a pleasant and rather typical BW with touch of hops to make a twist, but nothing special either.

75cl bottle at home. Cloudy orange colour, off-white foamy head. Incredibly fruity hop flavours with orange, mango, peach, even lychee; sufficient malty base, adding a solid body, sweetness and creaminess; quite a boozy finish. Oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation.
