Draught two weeks from tapping. Hazy dark orange with lace. Strong sweet pungent ripe tropical fruit and dank hops, bit of pine. Additional flavors of light grapefruit soft lighter sweet malt and some yeast. light and clean palate but sits heavy. Well balanced. Enjoyable.

Small offwhite head. Hazy deep amber body. Deep mealy tropical fruit aroma with resiny notes. Dry-sweet, and slightly acidic, tropical fruit and oranges taste- Mid-to-full body. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish, and slightly acidic, wooden oranges and tropical fruit aftertaste with mealy notes. Good, but marred by acidity. (0.4l draft at Amundsen, Oslo.)

330ml brown bottle. Pours out orange, hazy. Off white head with medium sized bubbles. Some modest lace. Big fruity nose, getting the mango sweetness and a zippy passionfruit. Fruity taste, mango and orange peel up front, peach. Finishes with some grains, light bitterness, some tangy grapefruit peel. Medium body with zippy carbonation. Decent beer, interesting fruit notes, but not something I would have more of one of in a sitting.

Beer colour with an ugly tan bubbly head that thankfully vanished. Speed review. Shnozz: heavy on the tropical, papaya, almost soap candy (from The Bay), soft citrus now that it’s warmer. Yap: sharp and acidic and bitter, tropical, pineapple for a second on occasion, mango, odd and not very drinkable. Creamy, oily, dry, acidic, soft and harsh. Sharp finish. Very unique and interesting but I am not a fan at all. Not really balanced.

Slightly hazy honey brown with a thick white skiff floating on top. WHA WHA WHA What did i just smell? Apricot, maybe apple pie, or is it white grape juice, peach? So thick, so fruity, so drool inducing, so much yum. Every thing I said I smell I taste but with a sour dryness. Taste has a vinegar quality that I wish wasn’t there. Lots of honey showing up now, floral perfume to. Wish this tasted as good as the epic aroma. Daaaaa..... Brew is going down hill the more I drink I wish it stayed as awesome as the first sniff but the sweetness and perfume flavors are starting to bug me.

On tap at Amundsen. Slight hazy orange colour with a very small head. Aroma is hoppy and laden with tropical fruits. Flavour is bitter with some sweet notes. Lots of tropical fruits again. Hints of water. The aftertaste really lingers for a long time.

Interesting....an APA with mango and passionfruit. Pours a bright orangey amber with a thin white head that looks almost soapy. The nose has an odd fruityness and a light citrus hop. The flavor has a nice mango and passionfruit with a mild bitterness on the finish and a light citric flavor. Overall a light resin and medium body and a pretty good beer.

Another descent beverage from Mikkeller. The bitterness does overpower the other flavors but that’s typical in mild hoppy ale. I will say I enjoyed the scent very much. My palate was affected but the experience wasn’t unpleasant. If you’re a fan of Mikkeller and the price is right go for a Tiger Baby.

In short: A well-malted and well-hopped, aromatic, nourishing and refreshing IPA. Very good
How: Tap at Black Back Pub, Waterbury VT
The look: Cloudy dark orange topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose is an explosion of orangy hops with some pine needles and some tropical fruits. I had this beer on the other side of the Atlantic from where it was brewed but the aroma was so bright and vibrant that I could have believed it was brewed next-door the week before. Taste starts with a full body creamy malty body, caramelized but not too much. A strong hops presence that had a refreshing bitterness of medium intensity. This is a well balanced beer, not a bitterness bomb. Very refreshing and somewhat nourishing. And you’d think that after a week-end of excessive drinking, I would not be entering beer ratings at work on a Monday morning while thinking about what beer I’ll open tonight. You’d think.
