On tap at The Bishop Arms Folkungagatan, pours a clear golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma of tart citric fruits, some barnyard funk, and lemon -- very citrusy nose. Flavour brings out dry lemon, low funky qualities, sour citrus fruits, and yeast. Quite tart and citrusy, with little of the traditional Belgian gueuze qualities. Decent, but leaves much to be desired.

Bottle. Cloudy, light orange. Aroma is crispy sour, cider-ish... Very dry. Taste is round and dry sour, but rounds into a nice, sweet tart. A hint of pepper. Allround, a nice sour, hard to detect the hops and feel the effects of it, but very nice..

Really nice surprise. Wasnt expecting much from this one but it was one of the best gueuzes I ever had. Tart and funky smell and taste is very well balanced. Not overly sour with great body making it very drinkable and refreshing. The dry hopping also adds a nice hoppy twist. Excellent beer!

Bottle from Salling. Pours fairly clear bronze with a tiny off white head that quickly disappear. Nose has funk, some very light dank hops and some lemon peel. Taste has leather, funk and some light sweetness. After having St. Gilloise I expected this one to be hoppier.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange body with a medium creamy white head. Nose is a weird mixture of grassy tones, red fruits, hay, wine gum, beetroot juice, berries, barnyard funk and hints of cinnamon and herbs. Hard to describe, really. Taste is lemons, citric peel, hay, grass, barnyard funk, wine gum, rhubarb, red fruits, beetroot juice and hints of herbs and wood. Medium to light body, medium to high carbonation. Whooa there, this is really weird. Gives a whole new meaning to the term "funky". Not sure if I like it, but Betelgeuze certainly is the most out-there experimental-tasting beer Ive had in a while. :-P

Pours hazy yellow amber with a tiny white head. Aroma is tart and funky with notes of herbs, some oak, floral notes, weak vinegar and old hops. Taste is pretty straight forward tart and sour with some dry wood, citrus, vinegar and dry old hops. Nice dry feel to it.
