(Draught at Örsted Ölbar, Copenhagen, 17 June 2010) Blak colour with frothy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with dried fruit, dark chocolate and black coffee. Roasted, malty taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, liquorice, a hint of tar and a generous coffee bitterness. Full body, fairly sweet, with a chewy mouthfeel. Nice and tasty strong porter with a well balanced alcohol touch.

Draft. A pitch black beer with no head. The aroma has notes of wood, tar, and roasted malt, as well as lighter notes of licorice. The flavor has notes of roasted malt, wood, tar, and soy sauce, with some alcohol, that warms the mouth.

Pours a near-viscous, near black liquid with some brown-orange reflections, and a small dark-beige head with foxy sheen. Burnt, but sweetish malts, charcoal, smoked mackerel and moccha. Outspoken sourish roasted barley flavour, followed by meat ester, going to more burnt notes, like overdone ovencookies. Bitterness very much in check, and totally roasted in character. Very well-bodied, slick, slightly burning MF. I like the sweet-bitter balance (acidity is too fleeting to count). For the rest, pretty standard strong porter.

Bottle. Black pour with a tanned, almost brown head. Smoky aroma with a lot of coffee, liquorice, some malt, vanilla and a little roast as well. Taste is smoky and roasty with some liquorice, alcohol, vanilla. Warming and alcohol-heavy, bitter finish that leaves some sort of sweetness to be desired. Medium body, medium-high carbonation, medium-long duration. I remember this beer as being better from tap...

Black with no head, only scattered bubbles at the rim. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts and sweet liqorice. Heavy sweet, acidic with hints of smoke all balanced against the bitter flavor. Full body. Oily with a dry finish. Flat. Sampler @ CBF 2010.

From tap@CBF 2010. A thin layer of tan bubbles over a black body. Medium strong aroma of roasted coffee and cocoa. Also a scent of dried dark fruits. Some fruity tones in the flavor as well, but hard roasted malts is dominating. Mid-bodied and oily in the mouth. Dry finish with coffee and licorice tones. A tasty and powerfull porter.
