750ml bottle courtesy of the man himself, thanks a ton!!!! pours a deep ruby red to dark brwon with a spongey brown head that retreats steadily. the aroma is very nice and very complex. it starts with tons of huge roasty notes, then goes into a red wine like profile in the middle, and tghe end is a deep and subtle sweet licorice and soft leather. sweet dark fruit notes meld the nose into the palate. prunes, dates, burgundy wines all are there in the taste, and an uplfting yeast underneath it all. truly a great beer; mikkel is a master at im-porters. wish he did more of them!

It’s pitch-black with a huge, brown and creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, licorice, dark chocolate and coffee. The flavour is moderately sweet, perhaps closer to sweet with notes of roasted malt, licorice, coffee, dark chocolate and hints of dark syrup. The flavour is very well-balanced, pure and delicious – a truly nice one!

bottle. pours extremely dark brown, selttles pitch black with a brown smooth head. aroma is dry, licorice, coffee, roasted malts, very faint fruity flowery sweetness (hops), aroma reminds me of ølfabrikken porter and mikkeller beer geek breakfirst, if i swirl the beer i get a little acetone like note from time to time, but overall aroma is very nice. flavor is very balanced, roasted grains, coffee, malts, sweet licorice. very well blended. the end is lots of coffee, roast and a little sweet malts and sweet caramel. aftertaste lasts for a very long time. taste is fantastic, lives up to the aroma and about as good as a porter can get without using wood and such tricks. Flavor is very well blended and presents itself as a whoe. Hard to figure the individial components. great brew.

30-OCT-2010, bottle @home, with Morten, from "Ølbutikken". Black, huge brown head. Very nice looking lady. High carbonation, roasted coffee. Loads of roasted malts, but also some hops. Perfectly balanced. A dream of a porter.

Black with no head, only scattered bubbles at the rim. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts and sweet liqorice. Heavy sweet, acidic with hints of smoke all balanced against the bitter flavor. Full body. Oily with a dry finish. Flat. Sampler @ CBF 2010.
