Thanks to yespr for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass golden-copper colored, small head. Starts very strong, surprisingly hoppy-dry, modest yeasty. Finish dry, more and more hoppy. Strange. For a weizenbock much too hoppy. Hard to compare to German weizenbocks. Not my favourite.

Draft. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Medium to heavy complex roasted carmel malt, fruit and small alcohol aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium complex sweet flavor with a medium smooth bittersweet finish of modeate duration. This is a solid beer.

Draft at CK. This strikes me as a bit underrated so far. Clear orange-amber pour with a fairly sized foamy head. Classic nose for the style, with plum, floral notes, peach, fig, and touches of banana and guava. Wheaty and grainy palate, brighter than some, but certainly a nice substitute for something like the attainable Aventinus. Good stuff!

Bottle from Rehills in Newcastle. Dark amber in colour with a rich, sweet malt flavour and a slight tart and sweet warming finish.

330ml bottle. Medium hazy, orange bronze, piled white head. Tripel-like, inappropriate aroma; gooseberry sourness, orange liqueur, tweak of rauch, background banana and clove. Ashy, yeasty flavour like a BC English effort gone slightly wrong; Tunnel, gooseberry, palinka, peardrop. As a beer, fine, as a weizenbock..fail. But I can’t think of a non-Bavarian effort that’s succeeded. Two minor stinkers in a row from Mikkeller but I still love ’em.
