Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2006. Amber colour with a little but nice head. Powerful aroma of hops and sweetness. Also very sweet flavour with notes of alcohol, malt and ends up strong bitter but extremly tasty and lovely.

[Another century is turned with a MIkkeller beer - this time rating number 6200] Except for Beer Geek Breakfast Draft Version, this is the Mikkeller beer I’ve had the most of - having it on draft at Ølbaren 1.5 kilometers from my home is nice (as long as it lasts). I have no less than three ratings of this from different enviroments and different stages of drunkedness that I’m combining. The scoring for all three ratings are identical - but the descriptions are more or less thourough.

A hazy dark orange - almost amber beer with a nice creamy and lazing light brown head. The aroma is very sweet and very powerful with primary notes being a combination of malt, alcohol, and hops in a delicate balance, combined with notes of caramel, fresh peaches, over ripe fruits, and citrus. The flavor is like drinking a thick hop juice with a strong alcohol presence, which tickles the tongue and burns slightly in the throat. The flavor also contains more relaxed but still pronounced notes of caramel, wood, and fruits. In the end the hops gain in strength with a strong bitterness, that balances out the sweetness very nicely. The bitterness in turn mixes with a dryness caused by the alcohol for a long lasting dry end. The alcohol gives it a powerful body. This is a Barley Wine with a lot of character.

On tap @ Ølbaren. Pours a clear red with a slightly tanned head. Lots of residual sugars and loads of hops that makes it rather fruity. Pinetree. Quite dry and somewhat floral. Dry and slightly fruity finish. Nice-one.

Draught at Ølbaren earlier tonight. Red "Blandet rød saft" farvet, small head. Smells like sweet candy. Taste: heavy barley, hop (not overhwelming), round taste.

Draught. Cloudy copper-orange body with a white head. Big nose - the hops are big, there is some alcohol, yeast, and pulpy oranges. Very resinous and there is loads of caramel substance and it’s almost chocolatey in the finish. The alcohol isn’t overhwelming though this beast is still remains a sipper. Very tasty.

Slight hazy orange-amber colored beer with warm orange to red colored glow. This beer has a stabile beige froth that leaves a fine lace. Aroma is super complex and has a smooth and elegant caracter. In the taste you can detect hints of fine XO Cognac, soft tropical spices, cedar wood, cigare box, flowers, loads of honey, soft caramel, crispy herbs and hops, and last but not least, truckloads of sweet barley. The taste is on the sweet side, it leaves a complex touch of all sorts of fine degistives like soft pure malt whisky’s, Calvados, and smooth XO cognac’s. Also hints of rich honey, cane sugar, flower-pollen, the bark of birtsh tree and the bitterness of the fine selection of hops. The afthertaste is sweet nutty, very well balanced and levels it all with this complex bitterness of hops. The taste of this brew stays very long in your mouth.
