COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
1/4 of the experimental X series presented by Mikkeller at Københavnske Øldage 2006. X Big Tony is a tribute to Tony - a great guy, a big fan of Mikkeller and a regular at Ølbutikken. This IIIPA is a true mad man!! At alc. 15% vol. and 500+ IBU’s (!!!) it simply doesn’t get any bigger than this....! Cheers Tony :-)

CBC. Hazy amber beer, little pale tan head. Quite a light palate, crisp and dry. Thin and sweet malts. Good skunky hops with bitter pine. Finishes dry with the malt getting even sweeter and the pine hops becoming spicy. Full on!

Rating #2700. Tap @ CBC 2013. The pour’s hazy red with a small white head. The nose is bruised peach, red berry. A touch of tart apple cider. The taste is rich toasted malt. Light creme brulee. Toasted apples, strawberry syrup. Glazed donut. Nice, smooth, silky on the palate. Very easy drinking considering the fat ABV. Overall, quite nice.

On tap at CBC, pours a hazy orange amber with a small beige head. Nose is very hoppy, with loads of fruity citrus hops, stone fruits, and a bit of caramel. Flavour is super complex, full of loads of resinous hops, a big stone fruit component and treacly toffee. Amazing integration of all the different components. The hops provide a great balance to the big malt backbones. Finishes very hoppy and sticky. Amazing barley wine.
