Pours a semi pitch black with almost no head. Aroma is big fat and sticky and has a characteristic smell of raw sugar canes, medicine, raw cocoa powder, soy, raisins, dates, chocolate, sweet liquorice, earthy coffee, motor oil and actually a nice balance overall. Taste of sweet liquorice, dark chocolate, brown sugar, dark sweet fruits, candied apple, medicine, soy and molasses. Very sweet beer - big fat sticky monster!

MotherBrother (690) - Aalborg, DENMARK - JAN 30, 2014
Pour is pretty darn black, with a "thick" reddish hue, and virtually no head. Aroma brings quite a lot of cocoa powder, along with boozy raisins, dried dark fruits, some "green" hoppy notes, slight roasted coffee, ever so slightly roasted malts, sugar canes, molasses, toffee, sweet licorice, soy-like notes, burnt sugar. This is almost like if a "Mikkeller black" mated with a lbv port. The taste is pretty darn sweet, with faint bitter notes. Pretty darn slick, slick and full bodied, with a flat carbonation. (that suits this brew marvelously) Thanks again to my boys, aka. Niels and Rasmus. Aka Niller and Ralle. Aka. Monoking and Mr. O double T for sharing this..

Pours oily, sticky, transparent black. Looks like coke without bubbles. Almost no head. The aroma is very sweet and boozy. Like cough syrup. I feel frightened! Taste has this brown sugar thing. Not just sweet, but the taste of (burned) sugar. Lots of raw cocoa, soy, coffee, raisins, cognac, slight sweet licorice. Very massive, sticky and tasty.

2013 bottle, excellent Euro hipster packaging, lucky it arrived in one piece...oil black, slight dark brown head on the pour, fast dissipation... the aroma is strong brownie with bourbon, pretty nice... the taste is diabetic sweet, lots of bourbon, no typical danish char, unlike any other Euro stout I’ve had, reminds me of an American stout, I get the hi European ratings, reminds me of a ba dark lord...good not great

375ml bottle, thanks to Jason.

Pours black, tan head, thin ring with some wisps on top. Smell is sweet...very sweet, actually. Light booze, oak, bakers chocolate, burnt sugars. Flavor is ridiculously sweet, chocolate, a little more booze here, caramel. Very decedent. Full body, light carb, creamy rich finish.

Overall, a very sweet, rich, and decedent stout. Not quite as good as previous rates suggest, but still a nice monster to sip on.

Poured deep, deep dark brown/black with no head, heavy oily pour. Aroma is a glorious mixture of roast malt, dry, alcohol soaked fruit, dark chcoolate, vanilla and dark roast coffee. Full body, vanilla smoothness leading to a flavour that is a more three dimensional version of the aroma. Utterly gorgeous.

37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours pitch black with a small tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are chocolate, tobacco, dark fruits, vanilla, coffee, and roasted malt. ABV is pretty well hidden.

Bottle @ Deans Winter Shelter Tasting, courtesy of kermis, 2013 edition. Many thnx for sharing this beauty. Pours a midnight black beer with virtually no head whatsoever. Aroma is alcohol, bourbon, booze, coffee, vanilla and caramel, all blended together in one of the most awesome aroma’s I’ve ever tried. Flavor is very sweet, much vanilla and caramel going on, alongside big molasses, licorice and dry roasted malts. Awesome balance. Long, cloying sweet aftertaste. One word.. WOW.. this defintely lives up to it’s reputation.
