UPDATED: OCT 16, 2012 (Draught) Pours very black. The aroma is dusty and sweetish (almost nectar sweet) with notes of wood, woodshop, sawdust, apples, vanilla, coffee roast, dark sugar, leather, suede, subtle dark dried fruits and berries. Lots of liquorice. The flavour is heavily sweet and medium to heavily roasted with notes of liquorice, coffee, chocolate, berries and dark sugar/molasses. Clear alcohol tones. The mouthfeel is sticky and full. Lingering sugary sweet aftertaste. Full bodied. Too sweet.Rerate: (Bottle) Pours black with small brown head. The aroma juicy dark bread, dark syrup, over ripe dark fruits, dark berries, sweaty liquorice, wood, booze, Madeira, port, calvados, blackberry jam, back currant lemonade, earth, vanilla, soy and dark fruity chocolate. The flavor is heavily sweet, near medium bitter and light acidic with notes of ash, tobacco, light oxidation (soy, leather and dark fruits), port, Madeira, earth, old hops, dark chocolate, liquorice, dark bread, dark syrup, molasses and brown sugar, The mouthfeel is sticky, fat and light oily with light to no carbonation. Port/Madeira finish. Medium to full bodied. Bad beer, good port.

37.5 cl bottle. Dark brown with faint tan wisps. Nose is caramel, dark chocolate, rubber and applejack. Not quite thick but still syrupy; lightened by a vibrant tang. Taste is chocolate, carob, rum raisin, graham crackers and apple brandy. Overall very sweet; random citrus zest and dark roast. Strong barrel influence really works here. Delicious and unique.

Thanks to Alex for this bottle... dark black, no carbonation... smells great, chocolate covered orange liquor... the taste is super roasty, awesome at first, but then it gets a touch to tough to drink, lots of roast, liquid orange, a bit generic, super tough to drink, but good

bottle thanks to the friendliest officer I know. poured black with not much of a beige head. aroma was awesome with lots of fudge, oak, red wine??, and molasses. flavor not my cup of tea at all. Had many elements of the nose, but had a strange flavor that turned my stomach.

/13/11/13//12

Another crazy bottle hooked up by Greg. Black pour. Sweet malt, booze, and chocolate nose. The taste is almost barley winish (think i just made up a word) with sweet caramel malt, chocolate, vanilla, apple, and dark fruits..

Rating #700 Bottle, huge thanks to IBrew2or3 for sharing. This beer was an experience. Poured black with a creamy dark brown head. Nose is intensely roasted with big notes of chocolate, oak, and brandy, lighter notes of vanilla, apple, and anise. Full body with a creamy, viscous mouth feel and soft carbonation. This beer is incredibly rich and decadent, I found the combination of roasty chocolate and apple brandy notes to be amazing. Finished moderately sweet with a lingering fudge note. Delicious!
