Barwa: ciemna, nieprzejrzysta, piana brązowa, drobnopęcherzykowa, obfita i długo utrzymujaca się. Aromat: głownie nuty beczki, w której było leżakowane, a więc alkohol (cognac), potem drewno i dopiero lekka czekolada. Smak: Niestety zbyt wytrawny, drewniany, wręcz ściągający, proszący się o słodką kontrę. Nuty czekoladowe wyraźnie w tle. Niestety spore rozczarowanie.

Scopey 5K Tasting in deepest Croydonia. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is smooth and airy and semi dry. Light fine carbonation. Light touch of dark chocolate in the dark malt. Little tangy dark fruits and mellow cognac. Finishes semi dry. Comes together well.

Bottle Fra Kenny Til Scopey’s 5K Extravaganza of Oompah Band meets doorbell music, cheers the Earl of Essex - 15/02/14. Pitch black with a good sized tan covering that thins to pondwork. Nose is roast malt, dark chocolate, coconut, liqourice, hint of smoke, light booze. Taste comprises booze from the off and a little harsh at that, roast malt, liqourice, notes of cognac, booze tinged wood, molasses. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Despite the booze being a little warming to begin with, during my brief sojourn with this one it settled down a little and this ended up being my favourite of the 3, solid work.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2014 Bottle thanks to Ken. It pours jet black with a thick tan head. The nose is mild acidity, toast, rich roast, coffee, dark chocolate and rocky road. The taste is rich roasted malt, toast, earth, tar, wood, vinous, cognac and decent bitterness with a dry, roasty finish. Fulsome body and oily mouth feel. Rich and bold, but ultimately a bit unrefined.

Very sweet aroma of vanilla, old furniture, milk chocolate, dark malts, honey, fruit cake, and molasses. The taste is less sweet, a tad bitter, with a bit of booze and a tarry, slightly acidic finish. Less enticing than the nose, though. Medium palate with very silky carbonation.

On tap at Mikkeller & Friends, January 2014. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of wood, roasted malt, dark chocolate, vanilla and some spices. Also light notes of cognac. Similar taste. This was not that heavy, the aftertaste was long.

Tap at viktoriagade pitch dark smooth brown head sweet malty aroma , roasted malts faint dark fruits flavor is very hard roasted malts lots of wood, like if it has been on the barrel for a very long time cognac is not very prominent probably due to the high bitterness. Very woody one

Tap at Mikkeller & Friends. Pours clearish dark brown with a bubbly beige head on top. Nose is all spices and oaky vanilla in front of some heavy cocoa nibs. The spices are quite prominent in flavour and the cognac seems to give it a very fudge like feel with plenty of dark chocolate and sweet vanilla. Works a treat. Creamy mouthfeel with some spices to kick in. Nice stuff
