Tequila aged 2012 version. Bottle from Tipples poured 8/1/14. Tequila usually bad news for me so hoping for the best. Pours pitch black with a massive dark brown head that mushrooms out of the glass. Aroma of chocolate, CocaCola or Pepsi (really like a soda smell), roast, vanilla, some very interesting spice notes like ginger snaps, not a lot of specific tequila characteristics which is OK by me. Roast up front with lightly sweet cocoa, some graham cracker and ginger snap spice, and a finish of funky tequila like booze. I donít do well with tequila so Iím hypersensitive to this, but I imagine itís no big deal for others. A really bitter boozy spice cocoa powder note that is unpleasant to me on the finish. Medium bodied with medium carbonation and a dry finish. Overall this is pretty solid, but not what I was expecting at all. Wish I chose a better time for this when I was in the mood for an end of the night sipper.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Dutchdrebus. Black color, full sized brown head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is malts, clearly tequila which I happen to dislike, sweetish and alcoholic. Taste has malts, liquor, tequila, some alcohol, some roast and a hint of dark chocolate. Full body, suitable carbonation.

Bottle @ benzai. Pitch black with a large brown head. Beautiful colour. Smells roasty, lots of chocolate and coffee, dark malts, sweet, some alcohol. Tastes alcohol, tequila, roasty, some chocolate, sweet. Pretty nice. Full body, soft carbo.

Bottle shared at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks ArizviSG. Black with a nice tan head. A little vinous, some cocoa beans in the nose, dry, ash, a little wood, then wine and cocoa in the mouth. Didnít sense the tequila at all. Smooth, full-bodied, a little ash finish. Very good.

Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks DSG for sharing it. Dark brown with a huge mocha head. Aroma of roasted malts, wood and dried fruits. Sweet and roasty with moderate bitterness, coffee, vanilla, some spices and alcoholic warmth. Smooth and creamy. Pretty good.

Bottle shared at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Black color with a creamy brown head. Roasty aroma with wood, coffee, some fruitiness, dark chocolate and some spices. Roasty bittersweet flavor, spicy, woody, a bit alcoholic, with dark chocolate, a bit of coffee and a bitter burnt ashy finish. Full-bodied.

375mL bottle, pours black with a medium light brown head. Aroma brings out lots of tequila, burnt roasted malt and alcohol. Flavour brings out a lot of tequila, surprisingly in a tasteful amount, with a little residual roast, and slight alcohol. Very tequila dominated, but I can somehow drink this no problem. Not bad at all, but only drinkable in small amounts.
