330ml bottle from Systembolaget, purchased 2013. Black with a large, creamy tan head. The aroma is sweet, vanilla and fudge and bitter, dark chocolate and coffee beans. Thick, creamy mouthfeel, medium carbonated. The taste is mostly bitter dark chocolate, coffee, cocoa, and some sweetness, vanilla and marshmallows. Finish harsh bitter.

Simply great. Big malty aroma with spice. Beautiful dark color and head. Smooth and heavy palate. Rich Flavors of roasted malt, chocolate, wood and holiday spices.

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2015 Rich, chocolate/tan head on a deep brown body. An appealing nose of unsweetened chocolate and coffee. This beer plays more like a stout or a rich porter than a holiday ale, but I am not complaining. The taste is balanced, featuring slightly bitter, unsweetened chocolate ( cocoa-like) and roasted coffee. Sub elements include a hint of nutmeg, vanilla and a touch of cream. The body is like a rich porter as well, with medium carbonation. The taste sustains well featuring the roasted coffee and cocoa elements. Unusually dry profile for a chocolate/coffee beer. A pleasure to sip.

Bottle, best before August 2018, so I think I’m good! Very dark brown pour, lively generous tan head. Bitter chocolate and burnt malt, scorched coffee beans, hints of aniseed, bitter finish.

Dobre piwo.

Black, hints of dark brown on the edges. Small beige to light brown head. Raisin, prune, dried fruit, some vanilla, some smoke, dark chocolate and espresso flavour. Sweet and bitter. Full body. Soft carbonation. Alcohol is present. Not bad, but not a favourite either.

Pour is a black with a tan head. Aroma is roast malt and some chicory char. Flavor is more of the dark roasted malt with a bit of wood smoke and bitter bakers chocolate. No sweet chocolate here, this is all about the roasted malt and strong charred aftertaste.

Draft to half snifter at Dutch’s a few weeks back from notes. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have nice dark chocolate, mild roast, hint of coffee, medium plus body, creamy texture, mild spices, nice beer.

Svart med høyt tykt brunt skum. Kaffe, mørk sjokolade, rosiner, brøddeig og noe mørke frukter og såpe. Bitter smak, mørk sjokolade og kaffe. Lett sødme og noe salt smak mot salt lakris. Fyldig.
