Bottled. Pours pitch black with s big brown head. Smells and tastes tar, smoky, roasted malt, lingonberries, abit bitter, slight alcohol taste.

Bottle from Systembolaget. (I guess this is the beer released 12/12/01) pitch black beer with a rich lasting brownish head. Nice lacing in the glass. Hoppy chocolate aroma, caramel, grass, red berries, hay, spicy, cocoa powder, soot, some ash, violet, licorice notes. Hoppy violet flavor, hay, red berries, licorice, cardamom, coriander, some pepper.

Tap @ C4, Odense. Pours black with a creamy thick head. Roast, Chocolate and dried fruit. Smooth, soft and full bodied. Brilliant!!!

Black with a big and lasting tan head. Aroma of licorice with a roasted note of charcoal, along with herbal and pine hops, and notes of dark chocolate and spices. Sweet licorice and roast malt flavour with a spicy hint. A touch of alcohol and a hop heavy and very bitter, long lasting finish.

My first To/From beer. Cool idea. Brown foam and lace on very dark brown beer. Aroma is a rich mixture of nicely blended alcohol, molasses, hints of chocolate and hops. Flavour is a similar mix. Tastes Christmasy or just enjoyable in winter. Dark malt, warm alcohol and a spice coffee cake.

Fairly nice rich roasty aroma, sweetish side reminds me of plums, darker side is a bit rubbery. Beautiful in the glass, black, and with a tight persistent tan head. Smooth to oily in the mouth at first, but then within fractions of a second the ashy coal kicks in and dominates the whole experience. Way too ashy for me. I gave mine to Anna, and took her SLH2011 in return - win!

En tirador.Negra con buena espuma y muy buenos encajes.Aromas a chocolate,galleta,especies muy balanceadas.Cuerpo medio sin ser pesado,muy agradable de beber.Fantastica

Tap. Pours black with a creamy thick tan head. Aroma is concentrated with charred malts, licorice, dark chocolate, vanilla, spice and herbal notes.
Taste is bitter, boozy. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel, long lasting roasted and astringent finish.

Sample @ Drink Shop Beer Tasting Session nov.2012. Deep black color. Nice brown head, stays. Spices, roast, coffee, chocolate in aroma. Faint raisins, coffee, massive roast, malty flavor. Very nice beer.
