@ Mikkeller Bar: Trevlig rostade toner, små ek toner och en tydlig söt ton från bourbon-fatet. Trevlig söt eftersmak,

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2012 Tap. A dark brown body with a small, creamy tan head. Good lacing on the glass. Spicy nose with mostly cinnamon, aniseed and clove, roasted malt and a touch of bourbon with a slightly smoked note and slightly bitter finish. Medium to full bodied, oily tocreamy texture and flat to soft CO2. Excellent.★★★★

Cask at the Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Poured black with a frothy tan head and some short-lived broken lace. The aroma is smoky and the bourbon is very prominent. The flavour is dominated by the bourbon but its not overpowering. There is chewy malt coffee and liqourice in there too. I'd have preferred something a little smoother and I think it should have been served a little warmer too, bit it's still a great beer.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar, November 2012. Almost black with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, wood, some bourbon and notes of alcohol. The finish was on the sweet side with a light tartness.

Tap at Mikkeller Bar, Black Sensation. Opaque black brown with a small brown head. Nose is dark fruity, heavy roasted with clear notes of bourbon, wood and some booze. Taste follows the nose, sweet with some smokey notes and a not so nice tartness in the finish. Texture is oddly watery, not exactly a.beer in perfect balance...

In bottle at Craig’s. Pours a very dark brown colour with a fair tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, prunes, raisins and alcohol. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. Nicely bitter with lingering bourbon and oak. A little vanilla also.

Bottle, 375ml corked. Looking really good in the glass, jet black, and topped by a finger-thick, dense, tan head. The aroma is roasted and coffeeish, with a pleasant hoppyness in the back, and a tad too much vanilla and bourbon. Sweet, vanilla and booze-ish flavor with coffee, roasted malts and some medicine hints. Full-bodied, smooth and warming on the palate, finishing lightly medicinal and quite bitter. A really nice beer, but a bit on the sweet side, and I have to admit I prefer the untreated edition. 120203

Bottle from Beer Revolution. Black with a thin creamy tan head. Earthy and musty chocolate coffee roasted cereal grain and whiskey aroma. I know it says bourbon but peaty scotch flavors dominate with light smoke and a nice oaky woodiness with chocolate and coffee flavors playing nicely throughout with an earthy peaty ashy roasted malt finish with just a hint of tobacco. Very good silky bright palate. Excellent brew with a nice complexity. It would pair well with a cigar in my opinion.

Bottled 375ml (vPBF, BB 08/2015)
Opaque black color, small brown head. Bourbon in the nose, toasted notes. Medium-bodied. Lots of bourbon, roasted maltyness, vanilla. Quite simple and booze, but not bad.
