4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Opaque black color with a tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of char, roast, bourbon, vanilla, wood, smoke, and light alcohol. Taste of roast, smoke, dark fruits, vanilla, wood, and bourbony alcohol in the finish. Seemed to be from a barrel that held a wheated bourbon.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Dark brown with healthy tan head. Aroma of bourbon, oak, apple, and loads of vanilla. Very complex flavor. First,we’ve got a heavy bourbon infused smooth, malty porter followed by vanilla bean.Finishes with a layer of espresso and a subtle hopiness. So rich I need a glass of water halfway through. MIkkel is a genius.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasted on 12/26/11 from a bottle. Pours absolute black with a thick tan head that slowly recedes to average lacing. The nose is darkly roasted with dark chocolate, molasses, coffee, and underlying bourbon and vanilla notes. The flavor is very dry with all of the roasted dark notes from the nose and the vanilla, caramel, and whiskey notes more prevalent. The body is full with average carbonation and a long dark chocolate, coffee, and light bourbon finish.

Bottle thanks to Dutchdrebus. Pitch black opaque color, small to medium sized light brown head that leaves a fine lacing. Strong aroma of bourbon barrel aging, very distict smell of bourbon and wood. Taste lightly malts, wood, bourbon, lightly sweet and a bit dry aftertaste. A bit thin texture, warming mouthfeel.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. This is my 100th Mikkeller rating.
The beer pours a black color with a tan head. The aroma is full of chocolate and roasted malt, but it also features a hint of oak and some bourbon whiskey notes. The flavor is heavier on the barrel-aged notes. I get a lot of oak and bourbon, as well as some chocolate and roasted malt. Thick mouthfeel and low carbonation.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pour Is deep brown with a very large brown head. Aroma is smooth and creamy roasted malt with notes of cocoa, coffee, faint spice, toffee, and faint vanilla. Flavor is rosted malt with hints of coffee, faint holiday spice and a faint musty note. Not too much bourbon present. It’s like a good standard porter with a hint of spice and a hint of sweetness.
