Bottle. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, vanilla, gentle bourbon notes, coffee and liquorice. Taste has a bit more bourbon, alot of roastyness, coffee, liquorice, warming alcohol at the end and with a rather dry mouthfeel.

Black pour tan head light lacing ... aroma of bourbon and oak with some dark overripe fruits and roasted and chocolatey malts ..... taste is oaky with bourbon, vanilla and a roasted chocolatey flavor after some spices come through, overripe dark fruits as well but the bourbon and oak are the dominant flavors here ... finish is dry and oaky with a bitter spice and hop .... abv is hidden well .... would be a nice one to age to see how the flavors turn out

Aroma had a roasty note that was matched well with the malt and chocolate and a hint of bourbon. Taste is chocolate and some licorice, this was a perfect beer for chistmas eve ;-)

Bottle at home. Almost black with a very large brown head. Aroma heavy malty (roasted, dark fruits, licorice, chocolate, wood), medium hoppy (citrusy, spicy). Flavor moderate+ sweet, medium bitter, light spicy, some alcohol. Medium+ body. Last Christmas beer this season, and what an end!

Pours thick, black with reasonable light chocolate head. Immediate aroma of booze, bourbon, a hint of vanilla. Flavour is like very dark chocolate; dry, sour, finishing sweet with a slight alcohol burn and elements of bourbon. Finish is enduring, dry, slightly herbal, and chocolate. Mouthfeel is slightly oily, though the herbs and flavour leave the experience predominantly dry. Not what expected, but rather tasty.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thick deep rich brown head. Aroma of bourbon, light hops, vanilla, brown sugar and some deep roasted malt with coffee. Medium-bodied; Assertive roasty and nutty flavour with bourbon, oak and vanilla very strongly showing. Aftertaste shows a bit of spice, some nutmeg and a touch of vanilla with the roasted malt and alcohol strong. Overall, an okay beer - not great, and not worth it’s very high price...but decent to try. I sampled this 37,5 cL ’split’ bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 27-November-2011 for US$14.55 sampled at home in Manassas, Virginia on 24-December-2011 (Christmas Eve).

On the 10th day of Christmas, Chalsk’s beer gods poured for me...pours dark chocolate thick with a caramel head that has a bright red cinnamon hue. Aroma of warm pleasant chocolate bourbon pretty smooth in the nos. The flavors of light roasted coffee and light spices and roasted malts. The body is lighter than expected, but good overall.
