Creamy lightbrown excellent fully lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and moderate hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Very roasted and some oyster notes. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate.

My 200th Mikkeller! Opaque black beer with a huge fluffy brown - tan head. Crispy palate, semi dry. Fresh tasting dark malt with a bitter roasty edge that also has espresso coffee. Pinch of ash, Balancing things out is a sherbet candy sweetness. Finishes dry with a carbonated sting. Nice juxtaposition of bitterness and sweetness. Very drinkable.

Color: dark black beer with nice brown head. Smell: malt, caramel, roasted bread. Taste: malt, roasted rye. Aftertaste: caramel and roasted malt.

From a bottle purchased in 2011, shared at Canaan Valley. Pours black with a massive tan head. Aroma of dark cherries with a hint of chocolate. Some notes of sour roasted grain. Mildly bitter finish.

Black liquid with a three finger compact mocha head. Aroma is roasted notes, rich chocolate, roasted coffee, maybe a little hint of fruityness and sugars. Pretty nice! A slight tart note of cherries, dark chocolate, coffee, smooth mouthfeel. Pretty good. Aged one year.

Bottle. Black colour with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. As to be expected from a porter. Flavour is bitter, slightly sweet, coffee, chocolate with some alcohol shining through.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Dark brown opaque beer with a beautiful brown foamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate. Taste has roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate and nice refreshing hops in the end. Quite complex treat.

75 cl bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with some sediment and a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, liquorice, anise, and a little smoke. Flavour is roasted malt, coffee, dark fruits, and anise – with a bitter, almost ashy finish.
