Bottle at my house. Pours black with brown head. Nose/taste of heavily roasted chocolate malt, ash, bitter coffee, cocoa and vanilla. Medium body. Earthy.

375 ml bottle bought by Rune at Bodø Vinmonopol and brought to Beer session XVIII in Tromsø 030112. Silver neck champagne-like bottle with original giftwrap label. Full black body with a massive tan head and rocky lacing. Flavour is well put together, sweet and smells of dark chocolate malts and some spices including anise. Flavour akin to aroma with good balance between bitterness and sweetness. Fills the mouth well. Some more time fermenting in the bottle probably would not hurt, but still very good.

Bottle courtesy of Max at a tasting at James’ place. Pours a deep black with a deeply tanned beige head. Roast and cocoa on the head, chocolate and musky smoke. Still some hoppy aromas peeking through, chocolate, roast and cocoa. Cigarette and ash, toast and roast. Medium body, chocolate, roast, and ashy cocoa. Long bitter roast finish, choc full of cocoa and roast. Lots of earthy bitterness.

Bottle. Black colour with a tan head. Aroma is coffe, smoked, roasted malt., hop, chocolate. Flavour is sweet, smoked, coffee, roasted, smoked , malt, hop, sugar, chocolate. full body. Very nice beer.

Doft av dillchips, peppar , söt och rund, upphettade sågspån. Doften lovar mer än vad smaken lovar. Syrlig smak av dillchips. 6p av 10 på Julölsprovningen 2011.
