X-periment at the Copenhagen Beer Festival 2007. Dark strong brown ale soured with lactic acid and brettanomyces. Sweetened with raspberry extract. This beer is inspired by the winner of the Danish National Homebrewing Championship 2006, Thomas Hoelgaard, and his Bazooka Frambozen.

(On tap) Hazy, reddish brown with an off-white head. Acidic aroma with some caramel and wood. The body is only medium in spite of the heavy alcohol but the sweetness is distinct - well actually this is EXTREMELY sweet. Flavours of wood, caramel and some berryish fruitiness. No biterness really. The aroma is enticing but the sweetnes is unbearably sticky making this unbalanced and hard to drink. 110507

Københavnske Øldage 07. It’s a dark, red-brown beer and the aroma makes me think of a flemish sour. The flavour has notes of caramel, candy sugar, berry acidity, yeast, a touch of raspberries and the alcohol is well hidden. I wouldn’t have called neither this nor the beer that inspired it a fruit beer - to me, it’s much more flemish sour/oud bruin-like, and as such quite nice. 2136

Belgo (154) - Køge, DENMARK - MAY 16, 2007
Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2007. Dark reddish colour with a nice red-brown head. The aroma is packed with sweet raspberries, vanilla, and dry amontillado sherry like notes. There is also some brett, but at the moment this is not a dominating part of the aroma- or flavourprofile. It might develop further with further improvement. Fullbodied on the palate with sweet malty and fruity flavours balanced very nicely by the dry sherry-like components. The finish is sweet but it is not a cloying sweetness as there is some vibrating acidity to add balance. A very complex beer that could evolve even further.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage. Hazy dark brown, minimal head. Tart woody cherry arima. Soapy sweet malt lies below tart cherryish acidity. Fresh intricate flavours of wood, raspberries and earth. Unfortunately some saccharine burns in the finish.

Aroma of raspberry and good, wellaged port. The flavour is thick port, sweet raspbeeries, fresh fruit and a slight sourness. Quite complex, but still round and very crowdpleasing!
