X-periment at the Copenhagen Beer Festival 2007. Dark strong brown ale soured with lactic acid and brettanomyces. Sweetened with raspberry extract.
This beer is inspired by the winner of the Danish National Homebrewing Championship 2006, Thomas Hoelgaard, and his Bazooka Frambozen.

Small beige fizzy head that was left in glass for a long time. Fair display of lacework. Dark mahogany colour. This actually reminded me a lot of a Flemish Sour ale. I never had the Bozooka Frambozen, so I can’t compare it. Aroma was at first very fruity with notes of fresh apples, pear. Then some berries come into play, most notably the raspberry aroma. Some grape and at the very end sherry like notes are also apparent. Good portion of brown sugar must have been used to balance this with the Bretta sour notes. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and a light sticky texture. Moderated sweet flavour with good balanced acidic. A complex mix of sweet and sour notes was lingering, as this wonderful beer lives the mouth. Thanks guys, you have done it again... ;-)
