Pours clear deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, orange, peach, pineapple and very subtle funk. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a fruity and bitter finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Far from as extreme brett as the bruxellensis. The aftertaste is a bit like the saison version.

Bottle. A big, dense, off-white head forms over a more or less clear body, dark golden in color. Nice lacings. Citrusy and funky aroma, lemon and pineapple, A bit simple maybe, yet quite complex if you’re spending some time with your nose in the glass. Peppery spicyness, some peaches, pine cones and leather. The bitterness in the flavor suits the funk very nice, and the residual sugar gives body to the beer. Nice carbonation. Lasting finish with sweetness, bitterness, fruityness and spicyness. This one and the saison edition is certainly the best and most interesting of this series. 130510

Location: Mug’s, 4/13/13
Aroma: It has a fairly hoppy nose to it, with some citrus, other fruity notes, and hints of brett
Appearance: This one has an orange colored pour, an off-white head and lots of coating lace
Flavor: The taste is similar to the nose, a little sweet, medium bitter, and mildly funky
Palate: This brew has a pretty decent mouthfeel, medium body, and a somewhat dry finish
Overall Impression:
I found this one to be more hoppy than bretty. It’s still a nice Pale though, and even though the brett is mild, the beer is still quite good.
