fonefan (35353) - VestJylland, DENMARK - SEP 1, 2010
Bottle 33cl. @ DOE Tasting, Fox & Hounds, Holstebro.
Clear medium amber orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, caramel, toasted, moderate hoppy, citrus - orange, moderate to light heavy yeasty, fruity, esters, yeast, leather notes, not banana but yeasty. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, yeasty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. IMO the the yeast fights with the hops. [20100831]

Papsoe (25084) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 11, 2010
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a clear amber with a dense and lacing off-white head. Some citrus in the nose with loads of yeasty accents and an edge of phenols. Rather solid body - especially for a Hefe - fruity notes, not banana though, again very yeasty. Astringent and very bitter finish. 110510

Bottled. Orangeish amber colour with a mediumsized slightly off-white head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is bready and caramelly malty along with some mild spices. Flavour is quite the same with quite strong citrus fruity notes and also mild alcohol comes through.

Cloudy amber beer. Foamy off white head. Light palate, semi soft and dry. Creamy malt - soft and minerally but with a crisp trailing edge. Hops here are tame and repressed. Finishes soft and creamy. Nice.

fiulijn (15000) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 19, 2012
Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen
Read-amber color; creamy head. Fruity aroma, not just the classic bananas, but also mellow yellow fruits, some mango, seeds oil, peanuts. The body is strong, the mouthfeel is quite round, due to the residual sugars still in the beer; there is a strong spicy yeast action, with bitter oranges; a lot of fruity and resiny hops, the final is very bitter.
One of the least typical Hefeweizen, very pleasant though; a crossover of styles (Hefeweizen and American Pale Ale).
